2 2 Introduction Advantages Technical Data Motors Bosch Rexroth DKR The intelligent drive solution for high power applications With the DKR generation of intelligent drives and wide range of motors, we are extending our proven modular range of drives up to 245 kw. High power density, comprehensive functionality and enormous cost-saving potential are the outstanding features of this innovative drive solution. The drive electronics - open for all control systems DKR compact control units contain all power supply, control and regulation electronics. They have direct mains connectivity and energy recovery capability and are available in a complete range of power ratings. Open industry-standard interfaces such as analog, parallel or SERCOS provide simple connection to different controllers and allow various operating modes to be used. Fitted with our controller card, the drive can electronically control and regulate up to 40 axes. The motors - compact and powerful This drive system is completed by a wide range of synchronous and asynchronous motors for rotary and linear feed movements, as well as main spindle applications. They can be configured with industry-standard interfaces for your special requirements. This system is completed by a wide range of synchronous and asynchronous motors for feed movements, as well as for main spindle applications. High-precision at high speeds Fine interpolation and the drive s internal position control with no following error and a cycle time of 250 µs enable high contour accuracies and high tool path feed-rates to be achieved. Absolute or incremental position measurement Special motor encoder systems enable absolute or incremental position measurement. No referencing, separate position encoders or associated cabling are required for absolute position measurement. Convenient and time-saving commissioning Menu-driven, graphics-supported commissioning can be quickly implemented by parameter input directly at the control terminal or PC terminal. Comprehensive diagnostics Continuous monitoring of the drive and comprehensive diagnostic reports on all operating states assist in the location and elimination of faults. Fast data exchange for servicing operations The software module in the control units stores all functions and drive parameters. When a unit is replaced, all specific drive data is made available simply by plugging this module into the replacement unit. Internal fault response During commissioning you can check the drive system s response to an emergency situation. Simple, time-saving installation Built-in components, such as a mains contactor, link circuit capacitor and bleeder, considerably reduce assembly and installation time. The high link circuit voltage allows smaller cable cross-sections to be used. The use of fiber optic cables for data exchange with the controller simplifies wiring. DKR drives enable you to run axes up to 245 kw continuously and connect directly to international AC line supplies. All DKR units offer energy recovery capability which can greatly reduce your energy costs. Compact and space-saving drive electronics The compact drive electronics, with its high power density and direct AC line connection, minimizes the space required in the control cabinet. EMC compliant Complete screening of the drive electronics by means of a metal housing and data transmission via fiber optic cables with SERCOS interface make DKR drives immune to electromagnetic interference.

6 6 Introduction Advantages Technical Data Motors Bosch Rexroth Motors Highly dynamic and optimized to your application 2AD and ADF Asynchronous motors for servo and main spindle applications These motors are used in particular as main spindle or servo motors in machine tools, as well as for tasks in many other applications. Various sizes with outputs up to 224 kw are available. These motors feature particularly fast dynamic response, with speed control range and are extremely smooth running. They can be supplied with an electrically locking or releasing holding brake. MBS and 1MB Synchronous and asynchronous frameless motors The main applications for these motors are main spindles of modern turning, milling and grinding machines, plus machining centers and rotary transfer tables, including high-speed machining. Liquid cooling and the large spindle clearance enable these frameless motors to be fitted directly to the headstock and result in new, compact machine designs with distinct competitive advantages. These include extremely smooth running and perfect servo quality for C-axis machining. The power range of the custom motor variants extends up to 68 kw. LSF Synchronous linear motors for movements with fast dynamic response Linear drives require no mechanical transmission elements and their use in highspeed cutting, grinding, sheet metal working and laser machining is therefore particularly advantageous. This series of motors also facilitates innovative machine designs which have distinct advantages. The outstanding features of this technology include very high speeds with enhanced accuracy and peak forces up to 22,000 Nm. The encapsulated construction of the primary simplifies motor installation and protects the motor from environmental influences.
