5 GEAR PUMP HEADS CAVITY-STYLE PUMP HEADS Ideal for applications requiring frequent cycling, suction lift, and high output pressures up to 47 ml/min. Drive magnets are encapsulated in and Teflon PTFE for durability and chemical resistance. Economical, easy to clean and service, and provide suction lift capabilities. Cavity-style pump heads depend on the surrounding pressure in the magnet cup cavity to hold the gears tightly together and often use helical gears composed of extremely low friction material-such as Teflon. PRESSURE-LOADED PUMP HEADS Provide nominal flow rates from 2.6 to 545 ml/min under continuous duty (see table below). All models give you the increased volumetric efficiency for consistent flow rates. Allow for increased volumetric efficiency, using a suction shoe to force the fluid pressure in the magnet cup to seal the gears tightly together. Insure complete fluid transfer with no backflow or leakage between gear tips. As the discharged pressure on the suction shoe and mesh point increases, so does the efficiency of the pump. The pressure on the outlet side forces the suction shoe and gears together, as long as the outlet pressure is greater than the pressure on the inlet.
