10 Module Programming Page 10 1 If connected in DD: Connect the -pin DD harness first, and then connect the 0-pin harness. (The order is important.) If connected in WW: Connect the 0-pin harness. Caution! The 0-pin connector can be easily plugged in backwards. -pin 0-pin Once all the wires are properly connected, plug the wire connector into the module. Connect the module: If the module has already been programmed, the red LED will flash the number of times corresponding to its programming type. and then it will turn OFF; if it has not been programmed, the LED will repeat the flashing pattern of the default programming type, which is 3 times. Flashes xn Flashes x3 Off Off = = No Programming Required Programming Required 3 5 Press the Programming button 1, or 3 times to select the Passlock Type. LED will repeat the flashing pattern corresponding to the selected programming type. - 1: Types 5 = Press button (1 x) once. - : Type 6 = Press button ( x) twice. - 3: Types 1, 3 = Press button (3 x ) three times (default selection). * The system is preset for Types 1, 3. To save and exit the Passlock Selection Type, press and hold the Programming button until the LED flashes once rapidly, and then turns OFF. Release the Programming button. The LED will turn ON solid again. Types 1, 3 Types, Insert the key and turn it to the ON position. KEY OFF ON Key at IGN START Press and hold the Programming button while key is at the ON position. The LED turns OFF, flashes once rapidly, and then then turns ON. The relay inside the module makes one clicking sound. Press Hold Off, Flashes Once, On Relay Clicks Once 6 7 Press N Times Press Hold Insert the key and turn it to START the engine. Flashes Once Release KEY Off On Solid Press and hold the Programming button while the vehicle is running. The LED turns OFF, flashes once rapidly, then turns ON. 11 Types 1, 3 Types, KEY For vehicles with a manual transmission, shift to the NEUTRAL position. It is important to carry out step 8 while NOT PRESSING ON THE CLUTCH PEDAL. With an automatic transmission, put the vehicle in Drive (D). 9 Turn the key to the START position and hold it there. Press and hold the Programming button one more time. The LED turns OFF, flashes once rapidly, and then then turns ON. The relay in the module will click once again. OFF ON START Start and Hold Press Hold Relay Off, Flashes Once, On Clicks Once The LED will turn OFF to indicate that the Passlock Resistor Code is now programmed into the module. Remove the key and test the feature by remote starting the engine. 8 Page 11 The LED will turn OFF to indicate that the Passlock Resistor Code is now programmed into the module. Remove the key and test the feature by remote starting the engine. Off KEY OFF ON START Remove Key Remote Start Off KEY OFF ON START Remove Key Remote Start Resetting the Module 1 3 Disconnect the module from any power source. Press and HOLD the Integrated Programming Button (IPB). While holding the button, connect the module to the power source. Wait until the red LED flashes quickly for 1 second and then turns OFF. Release the IPB. The module reset is complete. Press Hold Disconnect from Power Flashes x1 Second Connect to Power Release

12 Important Installation Notes Page 1 Installation 1, 3 Some vehicles such as the Saturn ION, GMC Canyon and Chevrolet Colorado, do not have starter wires. Installation 5 The wiring in some older Passlock 1 models may also have the following color sequence: Black/White, Black (GND), and Black (DATA). Installation 6 The Equinox uses a Passlock even if it does not have a starter wire. For some vehicles like the Equinox, it may not be required to have the transmission in the Drive (D) position during programming. Additional Information SUBJECT: CAVALIER,SUNFIRE 1999 OR OLDER (PASSLOCK SUPPLIED WITH BULB TEST) Our technical department has noticed that on certain vehicles, such as Cavalier and Sunfire 1999 or older, a voltage residue coming from the starter, once the vehicle is started, is present as a pulse during a few seconds. This problem only occurs on some vehicles; therefore, with test light, once the key is back to the ignition position, after being started, the starter wire is to be tested. The cut must be made instantly. If it is not the case, install a 1-amp diode as described in the diagram below. This is to rectify situation. If the module resets after programming, check your resistor code wires. * In this instance of the module diagnostics, the LED flashes in a continuous sequence.
