2 Tahoe Transportation District (TTD) Tahoe Transportation District (TTD) established 1980 as Bi-State Agency TTD Goals Implement Transportation Improvements affecting positive change for: Economy Safety Environment TTD is committed to restoring and protecting Lake Tahoe. Each of the projects we undertake includes provisions to help achieve the Lake Tahoe goal of returning its clarity to the annual average levels. Community Agency Funding

6 Project Goals Improve public safety; pedestrian/bicycle access; transit services; air quality; drainage/stormwater management and community design Address transportation and circulation needs by reducing congestion and incorporating appropriate design solutions reflecting the community and adjoining land uses.
7 Desired Outcomes Balance transportation needs with other community goals, such as economic vitality and improved visitor experiences. Provide an aesthetically pleasing commercial core/community area for residents, businesses and visitors.

9 Project Need 1. Meet intent of Loop Road System concept described in the Tahoe Regional Planning Compact (Public Law ) 2. Improve pedestrian safety, mobility and multi-modal transportation options to address increased pedestrian traffic created by existing and proposed resort improvements 3. Implement regional and local plans for the area: Lake Tahoe Regional Transportation Plan Lake Tahoe Environmental Improvement Program Stateline/Ski Run Community Plan

Mitigate severe summer and winter peak period traffic congestion along US 50 by achieving an acceptable level of service for existing and future traffic demand
