Teaching activity(hours): 60 hours (4 hours per week) ectures (): 30 hours xercises (): 30 hours 6 CTS xamination: Written + Oral Semester: Winter Study evel: BSc/MSc Course objectives: The course aims to introduce students to the principles of technological processes in railway stations and to ensure the competencies of students (knowledge, information and skills) required for understanding of train and shunting operations in railway stations. earning outcomes: At the end of the course students will be able to: 1. define the basic terms and describe technological processes in railway stations. calculated the need for track capacities, shunters and personnel 3. plan railway station technology process for given timetable 4. connect the work of railway stations with timetable 5. analyze coordination between stations available capacities and work in number of trains (wagons) 6. estimate robustness of technological work process for railway station 7. evaluate proposed solutions based on qualitative and quantitate indicators 1

Application of xpert Choice computer application for technological processes of train shunting operations STUDNT RSPONSIBIITIS AND XAMINATION Necessary conditions for successful completion of the course : Attendance is mandatory and students acquire the right to get a signature for 50% attendance at lectures and attendance at 50% of exercises. In addition, at the end of the course students are required to write and present their seminar paper and to pass written and oral examination. Written exam: Written test is administered on paper. Students are required to answer questions related to course topics and demonstrate their knowledge. Oral exam: Students are required to answer questions in such a way so as to demonstrate sufficient knowledge of the subject matter in order to pass the oral exam. Documentation: Attendance list is signed by students prior to every lecture. 5

6 ASSSSMNT OF QUAITY AND SUCCSSFUNSS OF COURS XCUTION Quality and successfulness of course execution can be monitored through knowledge testing systems, through creation of seminar papers, through creation of own practical works in accordance to given assignments, and through ability of students to use the acquired knowledge and skills also in other courses. In order to improve the quality of teaching feedback on course's quality and efficiency will be used, through questionnaire evaluation of lecturers by students which will be carried out at the end of the course. To this end Power Point presentations are used. xercises: In the course of exercises students solve numerical tasks of teaching units explained during the ectures. 8 Curriculum Vitae: was born on May 14, 1969 in Zagreb. In 00, he defended his PhD thesis entitled ong-term assessment of track geometry quality with the aim of maintenance demand identification at the, University in Zagreb. From 004 to 005 he was the General Manager and CO of Croatian Railways. Currently he is working as Associated Professor at the Institute for Railway Traffic. Since 008 he is a Chair of the Department for Railway Technology. 8
