6 Immediate Health Benefits Over 156 million Americans live in areas that exceed federal air quality standards for diesel pollutants. Serious health implications (children and the elderly are particularly susceptible) DERA program is one of the most effective strategies to reduce diesel emissions over the last five years. 11 Middle Country School District Grant EPA awarded Middle Country School District $359,305 to purchase 5 new CNG school buses U.S. Environmental Protection Agency 11

12 CALSTART ARRA Grant EPA awarded CALSTART $1.275M Replaced 51 delivery trucks with hybrid electric vehicles Partners include Coca-Cola, UPS and Sysco Foods Vehicles operate in NYC (primarily Queens and the Bronx), Upstate NY and South Jersey 12
