1 Distance Learning Distance Learning Summer How to Register For more information call San Jacinto College students have the opportunity to take classes at home via the Internet (online) through Blackboard or at their local San Jacinto College campus through hybrid classes (combined 50% online and 50% face-to-face instruction). These courses offer students convenience and flexibility and deliver the same quality instruction for which San Jacinto College s traditional classroom offerings are known. Students enrolled in distance learning courses have access to the same student support services as those attending classes on campus. The San Jacinto College website at provides access to library databases and other online resources once a student s data is entered into the libraries circulation system. Registration Students may register for these classes online at Class fees A $30 fee is assessed for each Internet class in which a student is enrolled. A $15 fee is assessed for each hybrid class in which a student is enrolled. Getting Started in Your Class Go to the My SanJac section of the San Jacinto College website at Click on Blackboard to access the web-based system. Login in to the system following the login direction on the page. Click on the link for your course to get started. For additional information on a specific class contact the course instructor. Technology requirements for students All courses at San Jacinto College are supported through the web-based system, Blackboard. To use Blackboard students should have access to a computer and the internet. Recommended minimum computer requirements to use Blackboard include: Windows XP (or higher) or Mac OS Internet browser(s) from one of the following: Internet Explorer 8 operating in compatibility mode Firefox 3.5 or higher Safari 4.0 Java 6 The Blackboard system uses your San Jacinto College student account for all communications. If you have not activated your account you can complete this step by going to for directions. Computer resources are available for student use on campus in the Open Computer Labs located in the Interactive Learning Centers on each campus.
