2 Unpack & Assemble Upon Receiving ZL Hoop remove all bubble wrap and unpack items in Ziploc Bag Charge 1 Battery to full before using it for the first time. Step 1 Step 2 Step 3 Step 4 Do not reverse polarity on Battery as this Will damage the ZL Hoop and Void the Warranty Off On Press Push button on Battery Side and Remove Cover. Insert newly charged Battery into ZL Hoop. Positive end of battery where RED Is marked. Re-Insert Cover over battery to Close The Hoop. Press Push button and slide cover to ON Position. To turn off Press slide button to off Position. To change battery slightly push on LEDS and battery will pop out. 2 After un coiling the ZL Hoop the LED Strip might not be overlapping The spring. Pull on it as shown above. This will avoid any LED Gaps. All the pieces on the ZL Hoop are loose and this is on purpose. The entire interior is loose as this avoid any tension on the LED Strip or the electronics. The interior is completely sealed off. Press Push button and Insert Cover over the clear PP Tube. Leave Hoop In off position until next step. PRESS OK TO EXIT ZL Show Mode Options ZL Show Pattern Shuffle Standby Mode Step 5 Notice in Standby Mode 3 Yellow LEDS ON After Serial Number Indicate You are in Pattern Group Shuffle Mode Remove Clear Plastic Battery Protection From remote control by pulling on it and discard as it s not needed. PRESS ANY COLOR KEY TO START SHUFFLE MODE

3 ZL Hoop showing in Standby Mode The ZL Hoop upon being turned ON, always starts in the Standby Mode. By Default and each time the Hoop is Turned ON, it is set to shuffle Only on 1 Pattern and by default its Group 3 Pattern 1. Single Selected Pattern ZL Show User Preset Selected ZL Show Pattern Shuffle Selected ZL Show Demo Selected Standby Mode I Just Want to Try the Hoop Now 9 WAYS To Start SHUFFLE MODE (if ZL Show OFF only 1 Pattern Shuffles) By default and each time the hoop is powered, it is set to Group 3 Pattern 1 (note the default Pattern 1 in Group 3 is not a heart, using it for example) By default the hoop is also Set and Selected in Color Wheel 1 In this simple 1 Color Pattern if you start shuffle mode with Numeric Keypad 1 Then the first color in the Color Wheel is RED and Pattern will play in RED. If you start with Number 7 then Color 7 in Color Wheel Is Blue and the Pattern will be Blue. When there are more colors in the pattern this Function allows you to reshuffle what color 1 is in the Selected Color Wheel. 1 Group 3 Lines Multi Row Unique 6 Digit Serial Number Battery Gauge Go ahead and Try with the default Pattern 1 From Group 3. You do not have to stop the hoop to change colors, simply Click 1 and then another number, see all colors change. To Begin Shuffle Mode Press one of the Numeric Keypad Buttons on the Remote Control. To Stop Shuffle Mode Press OK button on the remote This will also returns back to Standby Mode To Enter into different Modes you always have to be in Standby Mode. Pattern Vault, Color Wheel Mode, Speed, Brightness and Offset Mode are always ON as they are part of the system required to shuffle the patterns The rest of the Modes are always OFF. You first have to click the Mode To Enter, then once in mode, Click Same Mode Button to Toggle Mode ON/OFF. To Exit from a MODE Click on OK which will bring you back to Standby Mode. ZL Shows/ Shuffle Mode Click ZL Show Button to Enter Mode Click Again to turn Mode ON/OFF When in ZL Show Mode click on Z to Select the ZL Shows Company Demo Click OK to Exit Mode, Return Back to Standby. Notice when you return to Standby Mode, 3 RED LEDS are ON next to Serial Number This is to indicate you are in ZL Show SHUFFLE MODE When ZL Show On When ZL Show Off When in ZL Show Mode click on P to Select Shuffle on Entire Group. P has a double function and is a toggle button between Pattern Group Shuffle & User Preset Shuffle, Make sure LEDS show in Orange and not In Pink. Click OK to Exit Mode, Return Back to Standby. Notice when you return to Standby Mode, 3 LEDS are ON next to Serial Number again. If you are in Pattern Group Shuffle they are ORANGE, if you are User Preset Shuffle they are PINK 3

5 Standby Mode The Standby mode is first ON when the hoop is powered. User always has to be in this Mode in order to enter any other Mode on the ZL Hoop. ZL Hoop Stand By Mode Standby MODE Single Pattern Shuffle To Enter this Mode click the OK Button. The OK button allows you to return to Standby when you Are in another Selected Mode. It Allows you to return to Standby when you are in Shuffle Mode Which Stops/Pauses the ZL Hoop. 6 ZL Hoop Powered by the ZL FLOW ENGINE Color Wheel Vault Group Set 2: Groups 11 to Color Wheels Available For Loading SFX Filters Pattern In order for the ZL Flow Engine to Shuffle on a pattern it requires certain modes To be in a Chosen Selection vs Mode On/Off The Modes that are always ON (ACTIVE) In these MODES you can only change the Options/Selection Pattern Vault 1 Pattern Groups Brightness, By default option 2. Speed, By default option 1 Fastest. Group 16 Heart Patterns Group 16 Heart Patterns Shuffle Mode User Presets Pattern Selection, By default Group 3 Pattern 1. Color Wheel Selection, By default Color Wheel Groups, 1000 Unique Smart Patterns Offset Selection, By default Continuous, repeat pattern across entire hoop. 7 Entering ACTIVE Modes ACTIVE MODE Mode To Enter into any Mode The ZL Hoop has to always be in STANDBY MODE To RETURN BACK to STANDBY MODE CLICK OK These modes do not turn off, allow you change the Settings/Selection, they are always ACTIVE Enter Mode Change Options Exit Mode Brightness, By default option 2. This is the only mode that you do not Enter In/Out of. From Standby For Each Click Brightness Cycles through it s 4 Options Speed, By default option 1 Fastest. Click 1 Time to Enter Mode Use Keypad to change Selection Click OK To Exit Return Back to Standby Pattern Selection, By default Group 3 Pattern 1. Click 1 Time to Enter Mode Up/Down Cycle Groups Left/Right Cycle Patterns in Selected Group Click OK To Exit Return Back to Standby NOTE: Upon exiting you have Selected a Group & Pattern Patterns belong to Groups Offset Selection, By default Continuous, repeat pattern across entire hoop. 9 When choosing options, notice that the first 3 lights are always a different color depending what mode you are currently in. The next 3 sets of lights indicates whether the mode is ON/OFF. For TOGGLE MODES. And Addition In Mode Selections for ACTIVE MODES. The rest of the lights are used for options within the Selected Modes. To exit or go into another mode Press OK and once in Standby Select next Mode to enter Click Once to Enter Mode 1 Pixel Off Between Mode Selected and On/Off Mode 3 Pixels Off Between On/Off and Option Selection 5 Pixels Off between Setting and Preview Selection Once in Mode Click again To select options When Orange, indicates current selection When LEDS are Blue, Use Numeric Pad to set Selection Click OK to return back to Standby Mode Pattern Speed Modes Fastest Mode Currently Selected Hoop Brightness ACTIVE MODE ACTIVE MODE This Mode is always Active From Fastest to Slowest, Use Numeric Key Pad to select Speed There are 4 Levels of Brightness. Use the Light Button to cycle through. Brightness is available in Mode Select and Play Mode. There is no Display Indicator, rather Hoop Changes Brightness Mode while user cycles through. 9

10 Understand ZL Hoop Pattern System The ZL Hoop has over 1000 Patterns that are Organized by Groups, this is an easy way to access Them Quickly. All the patterns are available in the Pattern Vault Pattern Group 1 Pattern in Group Pattern Setup Modes These Modes are Always Active They define the properties of a Pattern Speed Mode ACTIVE MODE Each Pattern on the ZL Hoop is of various size, The Hoop knows upon loading the selected pattern All the dimensions and presets for any pattern. The ZL Hoop reads each Pattern Row by Row Starting from Top to Bottom and then again. Columns Pattern Vault Selection Pattern Offset Setup Color Wheel Selection The speed mode controls how fast the rows are Read from Top to Bottom. When in chase mode It automatically controls both. Choosing Patterns From group 1 or 2 which are single row patterns And especially with Chase Mode On is the fastest Playback. Rows Each Pattern is dynamic and responds to the color That is currently selected in the Wheel Mode. Depending on how the Pattern was built the First color corresponds to a color in the pattern And so on for all the colors. Changing the Color Wheel will also Change the pattern color. Further when Playing the Pattern you can re-shuffle The colors within the Selected wheel By Pressing a different color on the Remote. Offsets control the number of times the pattern repeats Horizontally at the Column Level on the ZL Hoop. If example Pattern is 25 pixels long on a 135 LED Strip if the mode is Continuous it will print 5 Times and partial 10 Pixels. 10

11 ZL Hoop Playback/Shuffle Modes The ZL Hoop has 4 Different Playback Modes. When in Standby Mode you can always tell what mode is selected by the 3 led lights next to the serial number. When they do not appear then ZL Hoop is in Pattern Mode Setup. TOGGLE ON/OFF MODE One Time to Enter Mode Once in Mode, Press again to turn On, again to Turn Off To play any of these modes you always need to be in STANDBY and then Hit any color on the Keypad to start playing the Mode. To Stop or Return Back to Standby Mode. By turning off the ZL Shows the Hoop returns back to Single Pattern Mode. Single Selected Pattern This is the default mode each time the ZL Hoop is powered on. It also has the 1 st pattern from group 3 selected. Color Wheel is on 1 st option out of 9 and Speed is setup to fastest mode. From this mode you can select the pattern from within the group, setup the speed, the colors and offsets. The are always active. From this mode you can then add Effects and Animation to pattern by entering into their respective modes, turning them on and selecting an option. You can always go back to Standby Mode, hit any color key and ZL Hoop will play back that pattern with the current setup. You should always be in this mode when saving a pattern into your presets, first play it as a single setup, return back to Standby. Press then then use arrows left right to select empty or existing slot, select 1 through 9 on color keypad for number of repeats and OK. ZL Show Pattern Shuffle Selected ZL Show User Preset Selected ZL Show Demo Selected This mode allows you to shuffle on all the patterns within a certain group or entire ZL Hoop. Depending on the setup you have in place effects each pattern As it cycles will replay in that setup but adjusted for it s size. Once in ZL Show Mode, by pressing this button again you cycle on Pattern Shuffle or User Preset. This mode allows you to replay your saved pattern presets. Depending how many LEDS show as pink, is how many slots have a pattern saved. This will Save everything how you setup your pattern, so the next pattern can have a completely different setting, effect, speed. This mode has selected patterns and effects by us. This repeats those patterns by also cycling through the different colors, basically pretending that User has hit a different color key. 11

13 The ZL Hoop has 25 Groups of Patterns. Each Group has over 50 Unique Patterns. That s a total of over 1000 Unique Patterns. 14 The ZL Hoop is capable of Offsetting a pattern in 4 different ways. ZL Hoop Offset Mode The ZL Hoop has at least 133 LED Lights depending on the Hoop Size. Each LED light is capable of displaying 16 million Colors. ACTIVE MODE Each Pattern varies in Horizontal Size. 2 Repeat Offset by Pattern Size 0 Repeat Pattern by Default 1 Repeat Offset by Number of Pixels Horizontal Length of Pattern 3 Display Pattern by X Number of Times Pattern Offset Mode Pattern Displayed 2 times across ZL Hoop Equally 0 By default Repeat Pattern 1 Left to offset by less pixels Right to offset by more pixels USE Left/Right Arrows To Change Pattern Offset 2 Left to offset by less pattern size Right to offset by more pattern size 3 Left to Right Select how many times to display Pattern on ZL Hoop (1-10) White or Pixel On/Off By default on all offset the LED Strip is off You can select a background color by using the Color Keypad To turn off the color cycle through the Pattern Offset Mode 14

16 ZL Hoop Color Wheels Explained Color Wheel Mode Color Wheel Vault The ZL Hoop has 104 Color Wheels Available and a Rainbow Wheel that changes all the patterns There are 9 color wheels that are available during Playtime. These wheels are stored in 9 Slots. First Choose which Color Wheel Slot To Replace Allows to Cycle the Color Wheel Vault Uses a Special Rainbow Color Wheel, this is more like a mode As it converts the patterns into Rainbows, the spreads them Around Hoop in a Rainbow Fashion Uses All 9 Color Wheels starting with the selected Color Wheel Plays Pattern in 1 st Color Wheel, Then in next Color wheel and so on Mode Option 3 Special Rainbow Mode All Patterns Turn into Rainbows Mode Option 2 Using All 9 Color Wheels Cycle Through Pattern ACTIVE MODE Color Wheels Available For Loading This automatically replaces The Color Wheel in the Slot User has selected 1 Uses Only Selected Color Wheel out of 9 Color Wheels Mode Option 1 Using Only Selected Color Wheel 16

ACTIVE MODE Mode Option 1 Using Only Selected Color Wheel Play Pattern using 1 Color Wheel Only! 9 Color Wheels Always Available Preview Currently Selected Color Wheel Play Pattern in Currently Selected Color Wheel Shows User if where color wheel Is within the 104 available Wheels Each White Led indicates 10x Position Currently Showing wheel Between 1-10 Mode Option 2 Using All 9 Color Wheels Cycle Through Pattern Play Pattern using all 9 Color Wheels Available Play Pattern in all 9 Color Wheels Up to 81 Colors at the Same Time! This plays the pattern in the first color wheel, then next and so on. When in Mode Selection, Choose Options 1-9 Use when Options LED are Blue To Cycle Through the 104 Color Wheels First Position The Slot you wish to change From 1 to 9 Using the Key Pad. OFF ZL Show User Preset ON This shows how many slots have been saved and are available for playback. By default the first slot is always available There are up to 25 Slots available to save your pattern presets. Each Slot Holds the Pattern Speed Color Offset Effects. During the save mode you select how many times to repeat slot Before shuffling to the next slot. Second LED from option shows Pink if in User Preset Mode, if not then press P again and this will change to pink. These cycle through continuously. It also does not matter which slot you Have used cause the hoop automatically know which is used and which is not. OFF This mode allows to play all the patterns from the vault. You can select the effects animation and this will be automatically Repeated on each pattern as it loads from the pattern vault. Further with keypad select how many times you want to repeat the Pattern before shuffling to the next one. By default it is on Shuffle all Groups, with no effects, no animation and No offsets.
