5 WELCOME TO ISLAND TIME! Welcome to Island Time! When the cheers are louder and the Southern hospitality is a few degrees warmer - it s Island Time, that nowhere-else-on-earth time when the RBC Heritage comes to Hilton Head Island! It s the amped-up mood and carefree tone that lets you know Plaid Nation has come to play. The economic impact of the RBC Heritage on the Lowcountry is unsurpassed. The RBC Heritage generates more than $96 million in annual economic impact for the state. Each year, the Heritage Classic Foundation distributes the money raised from the tournament. Its goal is to improve lives one tournament at a time, and it has helped thousands of people through its charitable giving programs. Since the Heritage Classic Foundation s inception in 1987, more than $32 million has been donated to those in need throughout the state of South Carolina. The RBC Heritage has an incredible support network of many local, county and state governments, as well as support and involvement from corporations large and small within the region. From Lowcountry residents and 1,200 volunteers who work the tournament to the fans who purchase tickets, the community heeds the call to Get Your Plaid On! Further proving that while plaid may be just a pattern on fabric it is very much the fabric of this community. 6 Heritage Classic Foundation Tournament General Sponsor When you support the RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing, you are helping support hundreds of nonprofit organizations in South Carolina. The Heritage Classic Foundation directs and guides the tournament, and since 1987 it has distributed more than $32 million to a wide variety of charitable organizations. HERITAGE CHAMPIONS FORE CHARITY The goal of this exclusive program is to increase the charitable dollars generated by the RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing. It is an effort to provide year- round support to the nonprofit organizations in our communities. All donations must be at least $1,000 and each receives a 15% match from the Heritage Classic Foundation. CHIP IN FOR YOUR CHARITY Birdies for Charity is a fun way to contribute to your favorite charity while following the PGA TOUR pros as they play in the RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing. Each participating charity will receive every penny of the donations from this program, plus the Heritage Classic Foundation will contribute an additional 15% for every dollar raised. DRIVE UP CHARITY DOLLARS Help the Heritage Classic Foundation drive up charity dollars by purchasing a license plate. The plate gives South Carolina residents a way to show their support of the Foundation. The majority of the proceeds are donated back to the Foundation. Scholar Program The Heritage Classic Foundation Scholar Committee awarded eight four-year Scholar Awards in Five are worth $18,000, one is worth $20,000 and two are worth $22,000 divided over four college years. As in the past, scholars from the graduating classes at Beaufort County high schools are honored, and scholarships are presented to deserving students who demonstrate scholastic and leadership achievement as well as financial need. The committee will also award four scholarships to University of South Carolina - Beaufort students and two annual scholarships to students at the Technical College of the Lowcountry. The USC-B awards totaling $10,000 will be named to honor John Curry in Hospitality, Deke DeLoach in Security, Joe Fraser in Business and Ward Kirby in Management. The TCL scholarships totaling $3,000 will be named for Norman Harberger in Management and Angus Cotton in Hospitality. Each gentleman honored is a former or current Heritage Classic Foundation Trustee. The program was created in 1993 when seven Scholars were named, now 37 students are receiving Foundation grants. To date, a grand total of $3,807,850 has been awarded. Since 1993, 275 students have been named Heritage Classic Foundation Scholars. The Scholar Awards Luncheon was March 28th, 12:00 pm at the Sonesta Resort on Hilton Head Island. For more information about the Heritage Classic Foundation visit 4

8 The Players Amateur The Players Amateur is proud to be celebrating its 17th anniversary July 6-11, This one-of-a-kind amateur golf tournament was created by players for the players. Former Walker Cup Team members Duke Delcher and Tom McKnight wanted the event to be 100% dedicated to the golfers. There has never been an entry fee for competitors. Players are guests in club members homes while enjoying the golf amenities at the Berkeley Hall Club in nearby Bluffton. This top-notch golf experience is made possible by generous contributions and donations from sponsors, volunteers and the host club. The Players Amateur quickly formed a partnership with the RBC Heritage and was one of the first major amateur events to offer its champion an exemption into a PGA TOUR event. The Players Amateur is conducted by the Heritage Classic Foundation, with Steve Wilmot serving as Tournament Director. Players Amateur alumni are making a name for themselves in the world of professional golf. Here is a list of just a few who have won on the PGA TOUR.
