4 Exterior The Golf's shape is recognised the world over for its sleek, precise lines and understated confidence. Perfectly proportioned and unmistakably European in its styling, this is a car whose every curve has been carefully considered. Longer and wider than the generation it replaced, the latest Golf looks assured in every driving situation. When viewed in profile, the eye is immediately drawn to the Golf s long wheelbase and distinctive horizontal lines that connect the front wheel arch with the rear of the car. The long bonnet and roof, sharply angled rear windscreen and wide C-pillars are all signature Golf features. 01 At the front a black radiator grille with chrome inserts portrays this as unmistakably a Volkswagen. Halogen headlights with integrated daytime driving lights offer bold illumination and are a design piece in their own right. The rear offers a resolutely modern interpretation of a design classic. The tail-light cluster forms a distinctive L shape, while the tailgate has an integrated rear spoiler incorporating a third LED brake light. 6 Interior The Golf s interior presents a balanced combination of comfort, style and ergonomics. High-quality materials have been used throughout, making every touchpoint, from steering wheel to switchgear, a pleasure to use. Instrument trims and decorative inlays add to the cabin s visual appeal, while the driver-oriented dash panel and centre console put the driver firmly in charge. 01 Every journey is more relaxing in the supportive seats trimmed in quality Black Cloth as standard, while Vienna leather appointed upholstery * is a feature of the 110TSI Highline and 110TDI Highline models.
