Keep this cap in place during storage and handling and only remove prior to assembly. Retainer ssembly Step When using a gasket retainer assembly, axially press the assembly onto the gland as shown. he retainer assembly will locate the gasket over the bead and hold it in place. e careful not to scratch or nick the bead as this may affect fitting performance. Proceed to Step 2 Non - Retainer ssembly Step Place gasket into female nut. Step 2 ssemble components and snug to fingertight. Step 3 Scribe the hex flat of both the male and female Step 4 Holding the backup wrench stationary, tighten the female nut /8 turn past fingertight. Warning: xtreme over tightening will damage toroid surface and cause potential leakage. Non - Retainer ssembly Protective Cap Removing ace Seal in an assembled system requires minimal clearance. o disassemble a face seal connection, hold the male nut or body hex stationary with a backup wrench and loosen the female nut. fter removing the components, be sure to protect the sealing beads with protective caps or gasket retainer assemblies.
