8 Electric and Water Rules 7 Discontinuance and Restoration of Electric and Water Service Senate Bill (SB) 120 Notification Requirements For renters where landlord pays for utilities Requirements have been implemented Proposed changes: Incorporates SB120/PUC Sections and into rules Landlord is customer for multi-unit residential service Prior to termination of service Notify residential tenants (in six languages) Tenants may assume future financial responsibility Not liable for past due amounts

9 Electric and Water Rules 12 Electric and Water Supply Through Master Metering and Resale of Utility Services Proposed modifications: Protects end use customer from unfair charges by landlord Tenants charged only pro-rata share Cannot exceed RPU s total bill Prevent unnecessary fees passed on by master meter customer Ensures transparency to end use customer

13 Recommendations That the Board of Public Utilities: Adopt a resolution to modify: Electric Rate Schedules A, D, TOU, and NEM Water Rate Schedules WA-1, WA-5 and WA-6 Electric and Water Rules 1, 6, 7 and 12 Recommend that the City Council adopt the appropriate resolution approving the above changes.
