2 Pole Installation - Deciding The Best Position Points to consider when planning the installation of your pole It may be easiest to have the motor adjacent to the power feed or nearest plug socket. The cable should be routed to ensure that there is no risk of condensation or water going into the socket The distance from the window is determined by the projection of the pole brackets i.e. 75mm to the centre line of the pole. Single pole bracket Double pole bracket When deciding on a fixing position avoid any hidden cabling. If in doubt consult a qualified electrician. Pole Installation - Tools For The Job Drill, Hammer, Screwdriver, Spirit Level, Tape Measure, Detector, Pencil, Allen Key, Masonry Bits Pole Installation - Fixings Your system is ready assembled for easy fixing. The pack contains everything you need to fix the track to a wooden batten however if fixing directly to a wall or ceiling, appropriate fixings, for example wall plugs may also be required. Here is an example of common wall fixings for both solid and plasterboard walls and ceilings. 3 Pole Installation - Bracket Position & Fixing Having decided where the pole is to be mounted check for hidden pipes and cables using a detector. Draw a level line on the wall or batten at the position you wish to fit your pole. Mark the holes through the wall fixing plate ready for drilling. Masonry & Plasterboard Fixing To make holes in masonry, you'll need a power drill with hammer action, such as a combi or hammer drill, and masonry bits. Choose wall plugs, screws and a drill bit of the same size - although you might like to use a smaller drill bit first to produce a pilot hole. Safety first Never drill into a wall without checking first for hidden pipes and cables using an multi detector. Don't risk a flood - or worse, electrocution. Step 1 Having decided where the brackets are to be fitted and with the holes marked, make one final check for hidden pipes and cables using a detector. Step 2 Choose the correct size of plugs and drill bits for your screws. Opt for wall plugs specifically designed for use in plasterboard if you are drilling into a stud (rather than masonry) wall. Step 3 Hold the plug up to your drill and mark its length on the bit with some tape. You'll need to drill into the wall slightly deeper than the length of the plug. Step 4 Use your drill on a hammer setting to drill the hole. Keep the drill square to the wall and hold it steady, or you'll end up with a wonky hole. Step 5 The wall plug should be a tight fit, but you only need finger pressure to put it in. Lightly tap the plug with a hammer to level it with the wall, if you need to. This is now ready for you to securely screw into. Step 6 Place the screw through the hole in the wall plate and into the wall plug. Tighten the screw firmly until the plate is held tight.

4 Pole Installation - Bracket Assembly Step 1 Ensure the wall plate is fixed securely Step 2 Thread the fixing stud through the face cover and base cover and screw into the wall plate. Tighten the fixing stud with a screwdriver. Step 3 Slide the bracket over the fixing stud. (Note the orientation of the bracket depends on the type of gliders used) Tighten the grub screw with the allen key provided Allen key Allen key Pole on underside for standard and wave gliders Pole on top for eyelet curtains and buckle master carrier

5 Pole Installation - Bracket Assembly Step 4 Slide the threaded insert along the rail to line up with bracket Threaded insert Step 5 Thread the screw through the bracket and into the threaded insert. Tighten the screw tight with the allen key provided. Allen key The same procedure, as detailed above, is used on the double pole bracket

6 Battery Pack Mounting & Cable The MP43L has a separate rechargeable battery pack that needs to be mounted close to the motor. The maximum distance is determined by the interconnection cable provided. The battery has two magnetic mounts on the rear which are used in conjunction with mounting / hanging plates. To hang the battery pack, simply secure the hanging clip through the mounting hole on the bottom of the motor and offer up the magnetic mount. The battery hangs from the underside of the motor. 7 Battery Pack Mounting & Cable Wall Mounting The Battery Pack. Having decided where the battery is to be mounted check for hidden pipes and cables using a detector. The maximum distance from the motor is determined by the interconnection cable provided. Draw a vertical line on the wall or batten at the position you wish to fit the battery. Measure (see below) and mark the wall ready for drilling / fixing. Remove the hanging clip and secure the mounting plates with appropriate fixings to suit the fixing surface. 8 Charging & Connecting The Battery Pack To The Motor The battery pack should be fully charged before use (see below). Once the motor and battery are mounted connect both parts together with the interconnecting cable supplied. Always ensure the battery is fixed i.e. do not allow the cable to support the battery weight. Charging - The Basics The battery must be charged prior to use. The battery can either be charged in situ or removed to charge. Simply plug the charger into the charge socket in the end of the battery pack The end of the battery pack will light up to indicate charging is in progress. Pressing the charge status button shows the power left in the battery. 4 green lights = fully charged Recharging frequency depends upon usage with a typical recharging time of 2hrs Charger input Battery / Charging - Cautions & Warnings Do not use any other charger than the one approved and supplied. Do not charge battery in damp or wet areas. Do not the leave charger connected permanently to the battery or leave unattended. Disconnect from the mains when not in use. Do not attempt to charge if the battery or charger is damaged. Do not disassemble the Li ion battery pack. Charge status indicator switch

9 Motor Installation / Removal Once the pole is installed the motor should be fitted. Do not fit the motor before locating the pole Motor installation Insert the motor shaft into the drive unit 2. Rotate the motor through 90 degrees until the locking clip locates Motor removal Support the weight of the motor and Push the locking clip upwards and Rotate the motor through 90 degrees and pull away from the drive unit Fitting / Removal Of Gliders - Standard Curtains The pole comes ready assembled with the correct number of gliders, based on the length. To add or remove gliders follow these simple steps Loosen the screw on the end stop(s) and slide off the pole 2. Feed the gliders through the gap and onto the pole. For wave gliders ensure the cord is straight and that the gliders are not twisted 3. Refit the end stop(s) and tighten the screw 3 Fitting / Removal Of Eyelet Curtains When the pole is for use with Eyelet curtains the pole is ready assembled without gliders. The pole is inverted with the brackets mounted underneath and the master fitted will be a buckle type. Buckle Master Carriers Finial Bracket Motor Bracket Finial

10 Fitting / Removal Of Eyelet Curtains Step 1 Remove the motor Step 2 Remove both finials by removal of grub screws. Use the allen key provided. Starting with the second ring of the first curtain slide the rings onto the pole from the non motor end, passing the first curtain over both buckle master carriers. Slide the rings onto the pole from the non motor end positioning the first ring into the slot of the second buckle master carrier. Curtain 2 is now fitted. 13 Remote Control / Motor Layout YR1326 transmitter Channel Open Stop Close Channel Choose Left Intermediate stop 1 Power Inlet Dry Contact Interface Channel Choose Right Intermediate stop 2 LED (Light) Setting Program Button Pairing The Transmitter (s) Before setup can commence you will need to pair the transmitter with motor. Each motor can accept up to 16 transmitters or transmitter channels. It should be noted that different transmitters may have slightly differing layouts and functions. Follow the instructions below for each transmitter used. Setting the remote control channel Entering into setting mode 3S Select required channel Press [Channel Choose Left] (or [ Channel Choose Right]) button to select the required channel. Pairing the transmitter Press [Setting] button on the underside of the motor for 3 seconds. The light will come on steady Confirmation Within 10s of entering into setting mode, use Press the [Setting] button on the underside of a sharp pen to press the [Program] the motor to store the code. The light button in the back of the transmitter. The light on the motor will go out on the motor will flash

14 Erasing All Transmitters From The Motor Should a transmitter become lost or damaged or simply you wish to change the configuration of the system it is possible to delete all transmitters from the motor. The following instruction deletes ALL transmitters from the motor. Deleting remote control channels Press [Setting] button on the underside of the motor for 3 seconds. The light will come on steady Delete remote control channels 7S 3S Entering into setting mode Press [Setting] button on the underside of the motor for 7 seconds. The light will go out to indicate all transmitters have been deleted

15 Checking The Running Direction The Down button on the transmitter should close the curtains and the Up button should open the curtains. To correct the running direction. Change direction setting Enter into setting mode Send the current change Confirmation 3S direction code Press [Setting] button on the underside of the motor for 3 seconds. The light will come on steady. Press the [Stop] button and [Channel Left] button on the transmitter simultaneously until the light on the motor flashes, then release. Press [Setting] button on the underside of the motor and the light goes off. Important Note: Any set End Stop or Intermediate positions will be automatically deleted when the change direction procedure is undertaken. Setting The Track End Stops On first operation of the track, the motor runs slowly to learn and record the length of the curtain track. Subsequent operations, the motor runs at normal speed. If the motor is removed from the system or has been used previously on another track the curtain may not stop as expected as the motor has recorded the previous end stop information. To delete the motors memory follow the delete end stops sequence below Deleting all end stops, inc. intermediates (motor limit memory) Simultaneously, press the [Program] button and the [Stop] button for 4 seconds. The drive will click to indicate the end stops have been deleted. &

16 Fine Adjustment Of The Track End Stops Even though the system has a self learning mode the fully open and fully closed end stop positions can be adjusted slightly. Simultaneously, press the [Program] button and the [Open] button for 4 seconds. The drive will click and the LED on the motor will illuminate. 1. To store the new position press the [Program] button and [Intermediate 1] button simultaneously Change intermediate stop point 2 New IP2 Old IP2 & Stop the curtain in a new position for IP2, within the limit range. To store the new position press the [Program] button and [Intermediate 2] button simultaneously

18 Hand Start Control The Eazipole curtain system has a hand start function, i.e the motor will start when the fabric is pulled. This function is turned on when the system is delivered. This function can be turned On or Off as required Use touch control fuction Activate the function Confirmation Press [Stop] and [Open] button for 4 seconds Press [Program] button on the back until the light on the motor comes on of the transmitter with a sharp tip for 3s. The motor light goes off - function is now activated. Cancel touch control function Cancel the function Confirmation Press [Stop] and [Close] button for 4 seconds Press [Program] button on the back until the light on the motor comes on of the transmitter with a sharp tip for 3s. The motor light goes off function is now cancelled.

19 External Network Control The Eazipole curtain system has a dry contact interface for external switch or network control. In the unlikely event of a fault please contact the helpline number or our customer services. You may be asked to return a copy of proof of purchase. Subject to the exclusions set out below, the faulty goods shall be repaired or replaced and despatched within 7 days of receipt. Repairs have been attempted by persons other than our service team. 4. The unit has been used for hire or non domestic purposes. 5.
