Please read the following safety information and instructions. Failure to comply with the safety information and instructions can lead to electric shock, fire and/or serious injuries. Please keep all safety information and instructions for future reference. WORKSPACE SAFETY - Keep your workspace clean and provide sufficient lighting. Messy workspaces and/or work areas with insufficient illumination can lead to accidents. - Do not operate the rivet tool in an environment with risk of explosion, i.e. areas that contain flammable liquids, gases or dust. Rivet tools create sparks which can ignite flammable dust or vapors. - Keep children and other people away while operating the rivet tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control of the tool. ELECTRIC SAFETY - Do no expose the tool to rain or humidity. Water entering the rivet tool increases the risk of electric shock and tool damage. PEOPLE SAFETY - Stay alert, be careful with your actions and use the rivet tool to set blind rivets within the TOOL S CAPACITY. Using the tool outside the specified capacity parameters or for purposes other than setting blind rivets can cause damage to the tool and will void any warranty. - Do not use the rivet tool if you are tired or if you are under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medications that can interfere with your concentration. Momentary inattention while using the rivet tool can result in serious injuries. - Wear protective clothing and always wear protective safety glasses while using the rivet tool. Wear other protective gear such as a dust mask, skid-proof safety shoes, helmets or ear protection depending on the working conditions and workplace requirements to reduce the risk of injuries. - Remove adjusting tools and screwdrivers before switching on the rivet tool. A tool or screwdriver placed onto a rotating part of the tool while in use can cause serious injuries and major damage to the tool. - Avoid unnatural body positions. Ensure you are standing firmly and always preserve your balance in order to maintain better control of the rivet tool should an unexpected situation occur. - Wear appropriate clothing. Do not wear oversized clothing or jewelry. Avoid putting your hair, clothing or jewelry close to the moving parts of the tool as loose hair, clothing or jewelry can become caught up in the moving parts resulting in serious injuries and major damage to the tool. - Ensure that the mandrel collector is correctly fitted at all times.

3 OPERATION & HANDLING OF THE RIVET TOOL Do not overload the rivet tool. Use the rivet tool to set blind rivets within the TOOL S CAPACITY ONLY. Using the tool outside the specified capacity parameters or for purposes other than setting blind rivets can cause damage to the tool and will void any warranty. Do not use a battery rivet tool that has a defective trigger switch. A rivet tool that cannot be turned off is dangerous and should be repaired by an authorized repairer immediately. Remove the battery before making adjustments to the rivet tool, changing nose tips or putting the tool away. This safety precaution prevents inadvertent starting of the rivet tool. Store the rivet tool out of the reach of children. Do not allow persons not familiar with the rivet tool or persons who have not read the instructions to operate the rivet tool. Rivet tools are dangerous when in the hands of inexperienced persons. Regularly perform basic maintenance on your rivet tool. Check if the moving parts are functioning flawlessly and do not jam. Regularly check for broken or damaged parts that could influence the correct operation of the rivet tool. Damaged parts should immediately be replaced by an authorized repair agent before using the rivet tool. Accidents with rivet tools usually stem for poor maintenance or failure to repair damaged tools. Use the rivet tool and its accessories according to these instructions only. Take into consideration the working conditions and the type of work being performed. The use of rivet tools for purposes other than those specified in this operation manual can lead to serious injuries and damage to the tool. USE OF BATTERIES Only re-charge the batteries in charging devices approved by the rivet tool manufacturer. Using an unauthorized charger to re-charge the rivet tool s batteries can lead to fire, serious injuries and damage to the rivet tool. Remove the battery from the tool when not in use. Store the batteries away from paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or any other metallic objects that may cause the contacts to connect. If the batteries shortcircuit it can lead to serious burns and fires. Fluid may emerge from the batteries if they are used or re-charged incorrectly. Avoid contact with the fluid. In case of accidental contact with skin, rinse the area with water. If the battery fluid comes into contact with the eyes, seek immediate medical assistance. Battery fluid can lead to burns and irritation of the skin. Damage can occur to other parts of the rivet tool if they come into contact with the battery fluid. Clean and replace any affected parts immediately. Do not open the battery case as this can cause the battery to short-circuit. Keep the battery away from heat e.g. direct sunlight and away from fire due to risk of explosion. If the battery is damaged or used in an inappropriate manner, vapors may emerge from it. If exposed to these vapors, get some fresh air and seek medical attention as exposure to these vapors can lead to irritation or the respiratory system.

4 CHARGING THE BATTERY Note: The battery is only partially charged upon delivery. To guarantee full power of the battery, charge it completely in the supplied charger before first use. Pay attention to the charge indicator on the charger. The li-ion battery can be re-charged at any time without affecting its life. Interrupting the charging process doesn t damage the battery. The battery is equipped with a temperature monitoring system which only allows for charging between 0 C and 45 C. REMOVING THE BATTERY The battery (H) is equipped with a locking mechanism (G). As long as the battery remains inside the rivet tool it is held in position by a spring. To remove the battery (H), press the release button (G) and slide the battery out of the rivet tool. Do not use force. SAFETY INFORMATION FOR BATTERY RIVET TOOLS - Hold the rivet tool firmly with both hands when working with this tool. - Immediately turn off the rivet tool if it jams. The rivet tool jams when it is overloaded. - Be prepared for high reacting torque which causes strong recoil. - Ensure the workpiece to be riveted is held securely before setting the rivets. - Make sure that the power switch is set to the Off position before inserting the battery into the rivet tool. Holding your fingers close to the power switch when carrying the rivet tool or inserting a battery when the tool is set to On may lead to accidents, injuries and damage to the rivet tool. USING THE RIVET TOOL Insert the battery. Only use original Li-ion batteries with the voltage depicted on the label of your rivet tool. The use of other batteries may lead to serious injuries, fire and damage to the rivet tool. SWITCHING TO STAND-BY MODE Press the trigger (E) for a short time. The white LED on the foot of the rivet tool will light up. The device is now in stand-by mode for 3 minutes. Pressing the power switch again will reset the stand-by counter to 3 minutes. for 15 seconds. CHANGING NOSE PIECES The nose pieces (A) are marked with numbers corresponding to the rivet size. Hold the trigger (E) to move the clamping mechanism to the rear. Use the included wrench to change the nose piece (A) and release the trigger to return the clamping mechanism to the start position. RIVETING Insert the rivet mandrel into the nose piece (A) and the other end of the rivet into the workpiece to be riveted. Press the trigger (A) until the rivet is set then release the trigger. Tilt the tool backwards to allow the used mandrel to fall into the mandrel catcher (D). if the rivet mandrel does not break in a single working stroke, repeat the procedure.

5 FAILURE Over Current Protection: If the battery is overloaded, the rivet tool will stop working and the failure indication light (C) will light up in red for 5 seconds. If this happens, do not press the trigger (E) anymore. Unfix the front sleeve (B), then press the trigger (E) to reset the rivet tool to its normal position. Low Voltage Protection: If the battery is empty or with low voltage, the rivet tool is powered down by a protective circuit and the failure indication light (C) will light up yellow for 10 seconds. Warning: Rivet size must be suitable for the selected nose piece, for example. 5mm nose piece should be used with 5mm rivet. REPAIRS For repairs, return the tool, batteries and charger to Dafra Products to ensure the continued safety and performance of your rivet tool. BASIC TOOL MAINTENANCE Regularly perform basic maintenance on your rivet tool, to ensure the continued safety and performance of your rivet tool; - Keep the rivet tool and the ventilation slots clean to ensure good and safe operation. - Keep handles clean, dry and free of oil or grease. Use a cloth to clean since certain cleaning agents and solvents, (including petrol, turpentine, lacquer thinner, paint thinner, chlorinated cleaning solvents, ammonia and household detergents containing ammonia), are harmful to plastics and other insulated parts. Never use flammable or combustible solvents around tools. - Check if the moving parts are functioning flawlessly and do not jam. - Regularly check for broken or damaged parts that could influence the correct operation of the rivet tool. - If damaged parts are found, the tool should be returned to Dafra Products for repair. Accidents with rivet tools generally stem for poor maintenance or failure to repair damaged tools. CLEANING AND LUBRICATING THE NOSE ASSEMBLY Clean and lubricate the nose assembly of the tool after heavy use and/or if the tool becomes contaminated with dust, debris, paint flecks or swarf. 1. Remove the battery pack from the tool. 2. Remove the front sleeve from the tool and the nose piece from the front sleeve. 3. Remove the clamping sleeve containing the clamping jaws, the conduit and the spring from the tool. 4. Clean all pieces with a dry cloth to remove any dust or debris. 5. Once clean, inspect all pieces for damage. If damaged pats are found, return the tool to Dafra Products for repair. 6. Apply a small amount of grease to each of the pieces and reassemble as shown. Ensure that the clamping jaws are correctly seated in the clamping sleeve.

6 CHANGING THE CLAMPING JAWS The clamping jaws are wearable parts. If you are unable to rivet in a single working stroke, you should change the clamping jaws. Always remove the battery before changing the clamping jaws. I. (1) Front sleeve. II. (2) Clamping sleeve. (3) Riveting mechanism. (4) Clamping jaws (3 parts). Remove the front sleeve (1) and the clamping sleeve (2) from the rivet tool (3) then remove the clamping jaws (4) from the clamping sleeve (2). III. Oil the clamping sleeve (2) with grease (5). IV. Hold the clamping sleeve (2) so that the forward part is faced down. V. Place the clamping jaws (4) in the clamping sleeve (2) with their smooth sides facing outwards. VI. Mount the clamping sleeve (2) with the new clamping jaws inside (4) and finally, replace the front sleeve (1).

7 BATTERY NOTES Keep the batteries away from moisture and water. Only store the batteries at temperatures from 0 C to 45 C. Do not leave the batteries in the car. If the battery is working significantly shorter periods of time after full recharge it is weak and needs to be replaced. DISPOSAL Rivet tools, accessories and packaging should be disposed of in a way which makes them available for environmentally-friendly recycling. Do not dispose of rivet tools in household waste. DISPOSAL OF BATTERIES Li-ion: Do not dispose of batteries in household waste, do not throw them into fire or water. Batteries should be collected and recycled or disposed of in an environmentally friendly way. Defective and non-functional batteries need to be recycled.
