Technibilt History Technibilt was founded in 1946 in Burbank, California to meet the needs of an expanding shopping cart market. The superior design, innovation and quality of the Company s products led to its rapid growth and position as one of the leading shopping cart manufacturers in the North America. Innovation included the child seat concept which is still the standard in the market today. The design allowed the carts to be nested and still provided a suitable seat for small children. Realizing the value of the design, the concept was patented and licensed to other cart companies. An extensive expansion of the product line contributed to the growth of the Company. Products such as backroom equipment for grocery stores, material handling equipment for electronics and various other products of wire and tubing provided new markets and sales for Technibilt. To distribute their products they developed a strong network of manufacturer s representatives which is still utilized today. In 1953, the distribution network was expanded and Technibilt products were available nationwide. In early 1985 the decision was made to move the Company from Burbank to a new facility in Newton, North Carolina. The production facility was launched in Newton in February of 1986 and remains in the same, although expanded, facility. 1

6 shopping carts Resulting from an intensive research program designed to improve the quality of our products, the TECH-SEAL process has become state of the art in metal finishing where a zinc phosphate coating is applied on the whole surface of the product, followed by a coating of cathodic primer. Designed to improve corrosion resistance (especially in difficult to reach areas and joints), the process concludes with a top-coating of polyester and teflon which ensures resistance to water, humidity, salt, and UV rays as well as extreme ambient temperatures. 1 2 Pretreatment Cathodic Electrocoating Resulting from an intensive research program designed to improve the quality of our products, thetech-seal process has become state of the art in metal finishing where a zinc phosphate coating is applied on the whole surface of the product, followed by a chromic sealer, then a coating of cathodic primer. Designed to improve corrosion resistance (especially in difficult to reach areas and joints), the process concludes with a topcoating of polyester and teflon which ensures resistance to water, humidity, salt, and UV rays as well as extreme ambient temperatures. 3 4 Heat Treatment/Curing 5 Powder Coat Back to Heat Treatment Tech-Seal powder coated shopping carts and all their components were tested for lead content using X-Ray, Fluorescent XRF screening process and traditional wet chemical analysis. In conclusion, the shopping carts, Tech-seal coating and all component parts have passed and comply with the lead content requirements of Section 101 (a) (2) (b) of the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA). 44

25 Limited Warranty Technibilt's TECH-SEAL coated shopping carts are warranted against the spread of corrosion or rust for a period of three (3) years from purchase date by the initial owner. This three-year Warranty will be honored based on the following conditions: The shopping carts must be cleaned with mild detergents. The use of abrasive materials (i.e: stiff brushes or scrappers) will invalidate this Warranty, as will physical damage rupturing the coating, or sustained exposure to corrosive substances and vapors. Warranty applies only where shopping carts have been used continuously within a temperature range from -40o F. to +250o F. Technibilt, Ltd.'s liability is limited exclusively to the cost of repair or replacement of nonconforming or defective products at its sole option. In the event Technibilt, Ltd. determines that it can neither repair nor replace nonconforming or defective products, the sole remedy shall be return of the product and repayment of the purchase price therefor by Technibilt, Ltd. by Technibilt, Ltd. in writing. All component parts claimed to be defective must be retained for inspection by Technibilt, Ltd., which reserves the right to require that such parts be shipped back to its factory, warranty service department or other location designated by Technibilt, Ltd. This warranty shall not apply to: (a) products altered or repaired by other than authorized service representatives or with other than Technibilt, Ltd. replacement parts; (b) products subjected to misuse, abuse or neglect; (c) products damaged by improper use or application; or (d) products that have not been properly maintained. Written notification of a claim under this warranty must be received by Technibilt, Ltd.'s warranty service department, Technibilt, Ltd., P.O. Box 309, Newton, NC 28658, within thirty (30) days after the appearance of the claimed defect. Such notification must provide all pertinent information regarding the claim. All orders are subject to price prevailing at date of shipment and are quoted F.O.B. Newton, North Carolina. Custom manufactured products may be subject to a deposit at the time of order. Order Confirmation To avoid duplication of shipment the word CONFIRMATION or CONFIRMING should appear on all documents which are sent to confirm orders placed by telephone, fax or any other way. Terms Minimum order $ Terms are Net 30 days (subject to credit approval). A service charge of 2% per month will be assessed on past due accounts. Shipments Shipments will be made F.O.B. shipping point and the buyer assumes responsibility for all damages in transit. Such damages must be declared at time of receipt, directly on the shipping documents, and claims must be filed immediately with the transport company. If after receipt of shipment concealed damage is discovered, immediately notify the delivering carrier requesting an inspection. The inspection report should be used to support your claim against the carrier. Any claim for damage or shortage must be filed by you with the delivering carrier. Unless a preferred routing is specified at the time of order, shipment will be made the best way, transportation prepaid and added to invoice. Returned Goods Policy 1. All returns must be authorized. 2. Each request must include the following information: A. Customer name and address B. Invoice number C. Invoice date D. Customer P.O. Number E. Quantity, catalogue number and description of item F. Reason for return 3. Upon receipt of your request, a return authorization number will be issued and this must be clearly referenced with your return. 4. The return shipment must be coordinated with a customer service representative, who will advise the proper mode of transport for the return. 5. All returned goods may be subject to a flat 20% handling charge based on state, condition of goods and reason for return. 6. Returns will not be authorized for the following: A. Items purchased on a special order basis (unless original vendor will accept the return). B. Items that are custom manufactured. C. Partial units of sale. D.
