1 Project Overview TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENTS WHAT ARE THE PROJECT GOALS? Transportation transportation hub. Develop ground transportation improvements to make the Airport a multi-modal regional Land Use Identify transit oriented development opportunities in the Airport area to take advantage of transportation connections. Land Use and Airport Connections Study Area WHAT WAS STUDIED? Land Use Study Area commercial and industrial properties east of the Airport Airport Connections Study Area Airport property adjacent to and west of Hollywood Way, as well as, non-airport All significant transportation infrastructure in the airport area (including freeways, on- and off-ramps, major streets and local roads, intercity/commuter rail tracks and bus routes) Regional Connections Study Area Connections between the airport area and regional destinations Regional Connections Study Area

2 Delivering New Transportation Projects Near-Term Transportation Improvements Regional Intermodal Transportation Center (RITC) Ventura County Line Station Improvements & Pedestrian Bridge Concept Ground Breaking Grand Opening Overview Concept Concept Elevated Walkway RITC Replacement Parking Terminal Project A new three-level structure housing a consolidated rental car facility and bus transit facility, which is also directly adjacent to the existing Metrolink/Amtrak Station. Schedule A Grand Opening ceremony was held on June 27 th,, to mark the completion of the $2 million transportation facility. Airport Connection An elevated moving walkway will convey rental car customers and rail and bus passengers between the Airport and the RITC. Antelope Valley Line Bob Hope Airport Metrolink Station Project New Empire pedestrian bridge and station improvements at the existing Metrolink/Amtrak Station. Schedule Metro has secured $2 million in State grant funding for the design and construction of the bridge. Bridge engineering and design is anticipated to begin in, with some station improvements already completed. Airport Connection Interstate 5 Traffic Mitigation Measures The new pedestrian bridge will connect the existing Metrolink station to RITC and the Airport terminal without the need to cross railroad tracks or roadways at-grade. Groundbreaking Major Construction Location and Transit Alternatives Overview Concept Project A new Metrolink station north of the Airport will provide better connections to northern Los Angeles County via the Antelope Valley Metrolink Line. Schedule Groundbreaking occurred on June 2 st, 3, and construction is anticipated to be completed in early 5. Airport Connection Once completed, regular shuttle service will be provided between the Airport and the new station. Project Multi-year plan to mitigate impacts of I-5 construction project. Schedule Metro Board authorized the development of a suite of I-5 construction mitigation measures to be considered by the Metro Board in Summer. Airport Connection Possible mitigations to preserve Airport access include improving Metrolink service, increasing BurbankBus hours of operation, and creating a new bus service between North Hollywood, Bob Hope Airport, Burbank, Glendale and Pasadena.

3 Study Area Roadways Major Arterials What can be done to ensure traffic continues to flow in the airport area, especially along Hollywood Way? - Interstate 5 - State Route 3 - Arterials: Hollywood Way, Buena Vista St, Vineland Ave, Clybourn Ave, Lincoln St, San Fernando Blvd, Victory Pl, Winona Ave, Thornton Ave, Empire Ave, Avon St, Vanowen St, Pacific Ave, Sherman Way Proposed Improvements All Alternatives: Interstate 5 HOV Expansion Project These ramps will provide a more direct route to the Airport for traffic coming from the south. Empire Avenue Grade Separation This project will improve access to the airport by providing a more direct route between the freeway and the airport terminal. Clybourn Avenue Grade Separation This would eliminate the at-grade crossing at this location, improving east-west traffic flow and improving accessibility to the airport. San Fernando Boulevard/Burbank Boulevard Intersection Improvement The San Fernando Boulevard/Burbank Boulevard Intersection Improvement Project includes intersection widening and improvements just east of I-5 and north of downtown Burbank. Alternatives 3 & : Winona Avenue Extension This extension under the railroad tracks will allow more direct access to airport from I-5 Roadway Performance Alternative Alternative 2 Alternative 3 Alternative
