2 Bulmershe School Bus Guide 5 Star Service Dear Parents / Carers, We are pleased to be able to introduce to you our School Bus Guide for Bulmershe School for the 2018/2019 academic year. Since last academic year, there have been no route or timetable changes to any of our bus services at this school, although service 983 is no longer shown in this guide because it is now operated by another operator. Bulmershe School is served by service 981, which is one of our Silverstars services,these are normal bus services that are aligned to the needs of schools and their pupils. Our Orange and services also stop outside, and we run extra journeys on these services at school times. As the largest bus operator in Reading, Reading Buses recognises its role in transporting school pupils to and from school. We aim to transport school pupils in comfort and safety, and at an affordable price, and we welcome school pupils on all of our bus services We operate a fleet of modern, easytoboard buses, all fitted with free WiFi so your child can stay online on the move. We use dedicated drivers who work on the same routes, and all of our Silverstars bus services are driven by Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checked drivers for your peace of mind. All buses also have CCTV on board to enhance safety and security. Our network of services is extensive, and pupils can access Bulmershe School on direct buses from Central Reading, Caversham and Woodley. Services and both operate within the simplyreading zone, so pupils on these services can take advantage of any of our great value Boost fares. Pupils using service 981 should purchase Silverstars smartcards. Please see pages 10 and 11 for further information. The website now allows you to track your buses as they move, so you will always know when your bus is due to arrive. 6 Bus F ares If you are travelling on service 981, which is a Silverstars service, you will need to purchase one of our Silverstars smartcards. Alternatively, you can buy a single ticket on the bus from the driver, but remember that we do not give change, so please have the exact fare for your journey. You cannot use any other Reading Buses tickets on our Silverstars services. Silverstars smartcards are valid for travel on all Silverstars bus services, and other Reading Buses services within the simplyreading zone only. They are only valid on Mondays to Fridays during school term time. If you want to travel on Reading Buses services outside of school times, you can buy a Silverstars Plus smartcard, this gives you unlimited travel on all of our bus services within the simplyreading zone at weekends and school holidays.
