3 10 inear Motor Stages 2.2 Typical Properties of inear Motor Stages IWI linear motor stages are directly driven axes with linear motors, which are designed as a plug and play solution. Standardized cable chains and customized cable guides are possible as an option. They are complete axes with distance measurement system, linear guide way, limit switch and optionally covers as protection against ambient influences. An arresting brake can be added as an option. Due to the direct drive, the linear stages are backlash-free, very dynamic, low maintenance and can be equipped with several blocks. The linear stages are provided as a complete solution including drivers on request. Customers can select the drive manufacturer of their choice. We supply the required electronic parameters for adaptation of the linear motor. 4 Scope of Delivery Positive (+) movement direction The movement direction is defined via the position of the reference switch. As a standard, it is on the opposite side as the limit switch plug (1). Driver (also refer to page 74) A suitable driver is selected according to customer applications and set up according to the linear motor stages to be supplied. The dynamic running properties of the respective linear motor stages are thus ensured.
