5 Highly Rigid High-Precision Structural Design The major machine components are based on Meehanite cast iron, which is stable in material composition, ensuring long life and structural quality. Finite Element Analysis is used to calculate the finest combination among cast iron components providing the highest rigidity machine mechanism. Linear Guideways are used on all three axes in order to withstand heavy loading and tolerate rapid movement as well as ensuring precise positioning. The high accuracy CAT-40 and CAT-50 spindles use super precision angular contact bearings and are dynamically balanced by IRD balancing equipment. 7 Unique Isolated Direct Drive (IDD) Transmission System (DV Series) The spindle is free from the thermal effect of the main motor reducing thermal elongation and ensuring spindle accuracy and long service life. In addition, the Spindle Oil Cooling System with machine mounted chiller increases accuracy. 9 Highly Rigid, High-Speed Transmission Design All 3-axes use the heavy duty roller-type Linear Guideway System ensuring characteristics of high rigidity, low noise and low friction. High speed feedrate and contour cutting accuracy are achieved. High speed feedrates of up to 1417 /min in the X, Y Axis and 945 /min in the Z-Axis are standard. The Z-Axis is equipped with a brake-type servo motor which contributes to its high motion response during fast machining.
