2 ABOUT US Independent Living Company started in 1995 with a background in retail pharmacy specialising in supplying medication to nursing and residential homes. At the time there was a distinct lack of retail outlets for disability products. We then began supplying small daily living aids and healthcare equipment. This grew into hiring mobility equipment on a short term basis. It was particularly useful for people who didn t want to purchase expensive equipment. The business relocated to larger premises in North West London and further developed into providing other services. We now have trained engineers that provide servicing and repairs for all types of mobility and hospital equipment. We also have experienced fitters of wet rooms, hoists, stairlifts, ramp systems, rails, key safes and all other types of property adaptations for the elderly and disabled. Our trained staff provide assessments for prescription wheelchairs and specialised seating as well as training on the safe use of patient hoists, powered wheelchairs and mobility scooters. We supply and are able to maintain a wide range of mobility products and services that offer effective solutions for private and NHS hospitals, caring and nursing agencies, medical professionals, travel operators and healthcare advise organisations. We are dedicated to customer service and satisfaction. 24 TERMS & CONDITIONS Hire : This will start on the day of delivery and terminate on the agreed day of collection. Hire Return: The hired equipment should be ready for collection at the confirmed collection time. An extra collection charge will be made if the hired equipment is not available at the due return time. Hire Extension: Extensions can be made at anytime during hire period, and will be charged at the prevailing hire rate taken out initially on a pro rata basis. Hire Termination: The hirer is responsible to contact us to arrange collection or extension of the hire at least 24 hours before the end of the hire period. If contact is not made the hire period will be extended on a weekly basis until we have made contact with the hirer, and will be chargeable at the weekly rate. Cancellation: There will be no charge for equipment booked and then cancelled. Equipment that has been delivered then cancelled will be subject to the minimum prevailing call out charge. Early Termination: Refunds cannot be given for early return of hired equipment. Payment: All payment must be made in advance of any hire. Payments can be made by credit or debit card without a deposit. Payment by cheques will be required seven working days in advance for clearance purposes before equipment is supplied. If payment is made by cash or cheque, a deposit will be required. Hire Equipment Suitability: All users will be assessed prior to hire of specific equipment. They must show ability to use equipment safely and that they comply within user weight criteria of the equipment.
