10 technical features E1X-SL-PRO MECHANICAL CHARACTERISTICS E1X, SL and PRO series are compact, durable and mechanically resistant. The casing, front and rear shields are made of vibration resistant aluminium alloy and steel. The shafts are made of high resistant steel and the bearings are lifelong lubricated. Rotors are extremely strong in order to resist the escape velocity of the drive engines and they are equipped with a damping cage to ensure excellent performance even during single-phase distorting and unbalanced three-phase loads. All standard motor couplings used in the market are available. ELECTRICAL FEATURES The rotor and stator insulation is made of class H materials and the winding is tropicalised. The magnetic lamination is low loss rate to ensure maximum performance. WINDINGS: All windings are all made of class H materials. The quality of the copper undergoes a double check to guarantee the very best standard in the market. Three-phase 12 leads windings are wound to 2/3 pitch to reduce the total harmonic voltage distortion by keeping it constantly within 3% during all electrical function conditions. DAMPING CAGE: Every model in the E1X, SL and PRO series has a damping cage as standard which allows the alternator to work in parallel stand-alone or connected to the grid and operating with single-phase distorting and unbalanced three-phase loads. The damping cage on all the models provides added value since the market for applications using electronic loads is growing rapidly (UPS, inverter, chopper and switching power supply units). These loads need to be managed by power switching devices with a good quality voltage wave form even when loaded. AUXILIARY POWER WINDING: The important aim of the auxiliary winding function is to guarantee that the power supply to the electronic regulator is not affected by the load connected to the generator. This winding ensures that the regulator operates perfectly whatever the load type, even with a severe non-linear load. The auxiliary winding is galvanically insulated and independent of the main windings. It has been dimensioned to guarantee a permanent short-circuit current equal to 3 times the rated current for at least 10 seconds, thus providing optimal function during heavy start-up transients of asynchronous motors. This auxiliary winding is the technological answer to the PMG (permanent magnet generator) power supply system, used in the past to support short circuit current, a function that this special auxiliary winding now carries out perfectly. OVERLOADS AND SHORT CIRCUIT CURRENT: Overload of 10% of the rated power for 1 hour every 6 hours is allowed. In case of a three-phase symmetric short circuit, the permanent current is, on average, 300% of the rated current. This value can be sustained for 10 seconds. THD (TOTAL HARMONIC DISTORTION): With linear and balanced load is less than 3% with or without load (L-L and L-N) ELECTRONIC REGULATORS: The voltage regulators are designed, manufactured and tested entirely in our factories. They are made with state-of-the-art electronic components and technologies that ensure reliability and sturdiness under any generator working conditions. Two models are available: single phase voltage reference model HVR-11 and three-phase voltage reference HVR-30 with three separate entrances. The standard E1X-SL-PRO alternators series include the following electronic regulators: HVR-11 on E1X, SL, PRO18 and PRO22 (HVR30 is supplied on request) and HVR-30 on PRO28, PRO35. 11 ACCESSORIES FOR E1X-SL-PRO PD (PARALLEL DEVICE/DROP DEVICE): This device is recommendend for paralleling two or more alternators. Furthermore, our AVR are equipped with a (0-5)Vdc input to connect external governors running parallel operation. ANTI-CONDENSATION HEATERS: Anti-condensation heaters, specifically made to apply onto the main stator during the winding final stage production, are available for the entire PRO series. IMPREGNATIONS FOR MARINE USE: The main stator of all E1X, SL and PRO alternators undergoes a standard treatment with a red paint: a protective class F high temperature insulating enamel phenolic resin that can be applied to all the generator wound parts forming a flexible film with excellent mechanical, heat and chemical resistance. It is suggested for use in high humidity or salinity environments. Characteristics of red insulator: Excellent chemical resistance to water, salt mineral and acids Oil and moisture restistant Thermal class: 175 C Excellent heat resistance POLYBUTADIENE COMPOUND: Anytime a better waterproof protection is required, a polybutadiene resin is also available for application onto the main stator. THERMAL PROBES: On request, thermal capsules with an NC switch (normally closed) and PT100 probes can be fitted into the windings. The PRO35 series comes complete with bimetallic thermal protectors. GEAR BOXES: The E1X, PRO18 and PRO22 series can be supplied with gear box for PTO drive. SUPPRESSION OF RADIO INTERFERENCE: all our products comply with the EN , EN55011 and VDE0875 directives, guaranteeing a grade G and N level. Moreover, radio interference filters are available in order to match the requirements of the most restrictive norms. Winding: Double layer with shortened 2/3 pitch (shortening factor=0,866) to ensure low harmonic content. Voltage accuracy: ± 1% from no load to full load with cosφ ranging from 0.8 to 1 and constant rotation speed. Short circuit current: In case of a three-phase symmetric short circuit, the permanent current is, on average, 300% of the rated current. This value can be sustained for 10 seconds. Overload: 10% overload for 1 hour every 6 hours is normally accepted. Short overloads can be very high (3 times the rated current). SINGLE-PHASE OPERATING: The single-phase output power is 40% of the three-phase rated power when using just one phase with a Y connection or 65% of the three-phase rated power when using a delta connection. ELECTRONIC Regulation : The E1X series is equipped with the last generation of the HVR11 electronic regulation. All adjustments are made with multi-turn trimmers that allow an extremely accurate setting. The main features of the regulator are: - Output voltage adjustment within the limit of ±1% - Stability control adjustment to guarantee the best dynamic response for any situation (type of drive motor or alternator size) - Adjustment of the low frequency protection - Adjustment of the over-excitation protection setting caused by abnormal loads - Remote potentiometer inlet - 50Hz or 60Hz working possibility. 27 GENERAL features MECHANICAL SPECIFICATIONS The SP and E1 series are manufactured by means of advanced technology and high quality materials. The frame is made of vibration-resistant aluminium alloy. The shaft is in high tensile steel. The rotor is designed to resist the runaway speed of the traction motors, and comes with a damping cage allowing correct operation also in case of distorted loads. The bearings are life-long lubricated. Axial ventilation is ensured with intake from the side opposite to the coupling. Both rotation directions are possible. All the motor coupling standards available on the market are supported. ELECTRICAL FEATURES Insulation is obtained with H class material for both stator and rotor and the windings are tropicalized. Low-loss lamination is used.
