Providing faster, more accessible and efficient transit service via an operational analysis will increase transit ridership and reduce auto emissions. CNG fueling station in Ryan Ranch for another year.prior AB2766 funding for this station over $700K. Loss of station would increase vehicle emissions. Applicant attests would close down CNG fueling station unless AB2766 grant is awarded. Continued operation will reduce; closure will increase, vehicle emissions. Funding this currently unfunded program, will prevent the closure of the San Benito County rideshare program, a transportation control measure. Program was previously funded through AMBAG. TOTAL COST: $30,000 Demonstration. Second year of program to provide guaranteed rides home to registered participants who rideshare or ride transit to work, to encourage these modes of travel. Prior AB2766 funding for this progam was also $15K Providing insurance for emergency travel during working hours will encourage greater rideshare, vanpool and transit commuting, reducing auto emissions. Eligible, but applicant must seek other funding for continuation, AB2766 funding may not be used to continue ongoing programs after startup MAXIMUM ELIGIBLE AWARD: $15,000 1 Council of S.B. County REQUEST: REQUEST: $10,000 Governments: Safe Routes to School OTHER SECURED: $13,015 and County Bikeway Map TOTAL COST: $23,015 Design and print a map of bikeways and "safe" routes to school in San Benito County. Printing and distributing 1,000-2,000 free maps of bicycle and pedestrian facilities and safe routes to schools in the adopted 2008 Bikeway and Pedestrian Master Plan will further encourage and enable use of bike and walk modes, reducing auto emissions. Will increase bike use by visitors, but may encourage additional visitors and hence increase auto emissions. Emissions reduced by local bike use are small compared to auto travel by visitors. Grantee to accept MBUAPCD approval of subcontract terms for the use of funded bikes by private hotels SCMTD: LNG/ CNG Storage Expansion REQUEST: REQUEST: $200,000 OTHER SECURED: $0 TO BE SECURED: $1,000,000 TOTAL COST: $1,200,000 Design and install additional C/LNG fuel storage capacity for bus fleet. Allows 30 more diesel buses to be replaced with CNG. Prior funding for this project was $90K. Completing the missing 500' segment in the Holohan Rd. Bike lane project previously funded will induce greater use of bicycles, reducing auto emissions. Partial, not pedestrian improvement costs $58, MAXIMUM ELIGIBLE AWARD: $106,644 Pedestrian emissions reductions are not quantifiable and are limited. Allow funding for costs of striping bike lane only, not pedestrian/ signal timing improvements. Grantee to secure another $404K for the project County of Santa Cruz: Regional Fleet Management & Car Share REQUEST: REQUEST: $199,998 OTHER SECURED: $254,428 TOTAL COST: $454,426 Install Zipcar technology in up to 75 vehicles in Watsonville, County fleets; add 6 Zipcars, double number of Zipcar pods and promote carsharing.
