5 HYPERTHERM EDGE CONNECT TC CNC WITH ipark SOFT OPCON J A HYPERTHERM EDGE CONNECT TC CNC WITH ipark SOFT OPCON The EDGE Connect is the next generation of Hypertherm s industry leading automated CNC control systems configured with Microsoft Windows 10 Embedded, Hypertherm Phoenix CNC software, customizable soft OPCON, on-board ProNest CNC programing software and embedded expertise from Hypertherm SureCut technology. POWERFUL AC B SERVO DRIVES A KANO HD is configured with (5) servo drives with up to 4.8 HP output and powered by 480VAC 3 phase input. The electrical panel is assembled and tested in Park Industries own UL 508a rated panel shop. Acceleration is 160 mg at rapid traverse speeds up to 1,800 IPM. Hardened & ground helical pinion gears, fixed pinion gear engagement and less than 5 arc minute gear heads ensure premium performance. TracKlean SYSTEM WITH AIR SWEEP TORCH LIFTER The KANO HD plasma lifter with (.67) HP AC servo motor and zero backlash direct drive ball-screw delivers vertical motion at 160 mg acceleration at speeds up to 600 IPM. 6 KANO HD Machine Features PLATE ALIGNMENT LASER The cross hair alignment laser enables the operator to accurately establish the corners of the plate. The laser is also very useful when aligning fixtures on the cutting table. D MAGNETIC COLLISION MOUNT Cutting motion and plasma cutting are stopped when a torch collision occurs separating the magnet from the receiving plate causing the proximity sensor circuit in the mount to open. The mount is reset by replacing the magnet into the receiving plate. E GANTRY BEAM The 800 lb. steel beam is fabricated from 3/8 & 3/4 steel plate and then stress relieved. All mating surfaces are machined on a 5 axis bridge mill in a single setup. Dual 30mm linear guides and precision helical gear rack are protected by bellows. Clearance between the underside of the gantry beam and the cutting table slats is 5. F PHOTO-EYE E-STOP Machine operation is inhibited if the photo-eye light beam is interrupted. When access to the torch is required for a consumable change or resetting the torch after a collision, a Maintenance soft key on the CNC soft OpCon is pressed to temporarily disable the photo-eye. G UNITIZED FRAME DESIGN The massive 6,200 lb. KANO HD machine frame is fabricated from 3/8, 1/2 & 1 steel plate and stress relieved. All mating surfaces are machined on a 5 axis bridge mill in a single setup. Dual 30mm linear guides and precision helical gear rack. H CUTTING TABLE FRAMES The cutting table is comprised of (3) heavy duty frames that bolt onto the machine frame. Each frame includes (2) replaceable drop-in slat support frames that accept (7) replaceable slats for a total of (42) slats. Table load capacity is 7,400 lb. or a 2.5 thick x 72 x 144 steel plate. 7 KANO HD TracKlean System J NOTE: For visibility, the back cover was removed TracKlean SYSTEM WITH AIR SWEEP FUME EXTRACTION The TracKlean system is comprised of a unique traveling car with a slag bin and detachable plow. The movement of the servo driven car is synchronized with gantry motion. Air Sweep fume extraction removes smoke from the table via a roller and belt system that maintains suction with the smoke collector through dual side exhaust tubes. TRACK Press the TRACK soft key on the ipark OpCon and the car relocates itself under the cutting torch and is synced to gantry motion. RETRIEVE If a critical part falls through the slats and into the removable slag bin, press the RETRIEVE soft key and the car and slag bin will move to the front of the cutting table in under 5 seconds. The needed part can be quickly and safely retrieved. With the car at the front of the machine, the slag bin may also be lifted out and dumped when required. Quickly return to cutting by pressing the TRACK soft key to relocate the car under the cutting torch to re-sync with gantry motion. PARK and CLEAN When cleaning the floor of the cutting table is required, press the PARK soft key and the car moves to the rear of the table so the plow may be engaged to the car by dropping two pins. Then, press CLEAN and the plow pushes the slag to the front of the table in under 30 seconds.
