5 INDIVIDUAL SYSTEM OPTIONS / Application as standard grid connected inverter / Start with a grid coupled system and upgrade with the battery and/or the backup mode later. / Backup mode without battery / Use the backup function in addition, but without battery. Power is available just according to the current irradiation. / Storage function without backup mode / For maximum self consumption but no backup power.

Future proof + AC charging at flexible electricity tariffs (loading when electricity is cheap) + Contribution to grid stability (future standards will require that) + Keep the battery charged to a minimum level (for backup power cases, contribution to control power in the grid) + Long-life cycle of the storage (charging from the grid to avoid total discharge) Flexibility + Integration of other (complementary) sources (wind, CHP) + Possibility to install larger PV power (e.g. in combination with Symo) + Retrofitting into existing PV systems

31 FRONIUS SOLAR BATTERY DATASHEET / Useable capacity? / A battery must not be fully discharged the Solar Battery requires a min. of 20% state of charge (SOC) / E.g. a 12,0 kwh battery can just use the range from 2,4 kwh to 12,0 kwh this corresponds to a useable capacity of 9,6 kwh / The display of the battery and SolarWeb always show the useable range. No need to calculate how much energy is available / E.g. at the Solar Battery 12.0: / SOC = 100% 9,6 kwh are available 80% / SOC = 50%...4,8 kwh are available / SOC = 1%...0,096 kwh are available (no power can be discharged) 20%

32 FRONIUS SOLAR BATTERY OPERATION / Storage / There exist no special requirements concerning the storage of the battery (storage temperature: -40 to +60 C) / Clarification with insurance company and local fire safety agent required as with other dangerous goods. / The modules can be stored up to 3 years after production -> sticker on the Energy Package tells you the latest date to install. After that date the modules have to be charged at Fronius (with costs). / Maintenance / The Fronius Solar Battery does not require any special maintenance (in contrast to several lead batteries) / It is just important to keep the ambient temperature in the admissible range (5-35 C) and get enough ventilation (8m 3 volume of the room) / All required charging processes will be done automatically
