7 Ultra Efficient Vehicle Systems (for the market advancement of Electric and Hybrid Vehicles) 1 st Competition run under the LCV Integrated Delivery Programme 12 projects funded approx. 12m co-funded by Technology Strategy Board, DfT, INI and EPSRC Focused on the design, development and demonstration of onvehicle ultra efficient EV and Hybrid Vehicle motive and ancillary systems Supporting the future delivery of ultra efficient ~ cost effective ~ market acceptable ~ electric and hybrid vehicles To encourage the transition to mass market adoption Demonstrator system to be ready next c2-3 years Available for mass-production adoption within the next c5-7 years Systems could be electrical, mechanical, chemical, thermodynamic, hydraulic a combination or???... in nature.

13 Low Carbon Vehicle IDP Competition 4: Strengthening UK s LC Vehicle Technology Supply Networks 19m competition with funding from SB and OLEV Will support industry-led collaborative research, development and demonstration projects strengthening UK capability and developing the UK's supply networks for components and sub-systems in key technology areas for low and ultra low carbon vehicles. The full scope of this competition will be announced by the Technology Strategy Board over the next six weeks, with an expected formal competition launch in February 2010
