12 Project Status Project was initially scoped in 2014 to meet new funding opportunity created in MAP-21 FTA accepted project into Project Development August 2015 BART and FTA are discussing detailed project scope/eligibility NEPA to be addressed with categorical exclusions BART is developing financial plan and PMP Approval into Regional Transportation Plan anticipated summer 2017 Local funding depends on November 2016 referendum and contributions from counties 12

13 Take-aways Statute and FTA guidance put limits on Core Capacity funding eligibility Planning and project development can involve significant effort Separating core capacity investments from state of good repair investments can be complicated Program is new - FTA and grantees are still learning 13
