3 Kampmann Equestrian Solarium Perfect Correct and Proper Use Safety Advice Correct and Proper Use The Kampmann Equestrian Solarium Perfect is manufactured in accordance with state of the art engineering and recognised safety directives. However, incorrect installation, commissioning or operation can cause personal injury and damage to the unit or other objects. The Kampmann Equestrian Solarium Perfect is used for warming up and insolation of horses in combination with Kampmann accessory units. The unit may be used indoors only. The units should be prevented from becoming wet during installation. If in doubt, contact the manufacturer directly. Damage resulting from incorrect or improper use is the sole responsibility of the user and is not covered by the manufacturer s guarantee. 1.1 Personal Qualification The information included in this manual relating to safety, operation, service and maintenance should also be adhered to. The installation of these units requires technical expertise in the field of electrical engineering. These skills are usually taught during vocational training in the indicated professions and are not described separately here. Damage resulting from improper installation is the sole responsibility of the user. 1.2 Limits of Use The Kampmann Equestrian Solarium Perfect must be used indoors only, in a frost-free environment: It cannot be used in wet rooms requiring protection greater than IP 54 and not directly at horse bathing areas. 1.3 Applicability of these Instructions Mounting Electrical wiring Installation and operating 2. Safety Advice Incorrect electrical wiring may damage the unit! The manufacturer cannot accept any responsibility for wrong wiring and/or incorrect handling or usage! Only authorized expert companies may install and service the unit! Only connect and wire the unit in accordance with the enclosed Kampmann wiring schematic and diagrams. The unit must be permanently wired. 2.1 Regulations Accident prevention regulations BGV1 (previous: VBG1), BGVA3 (previous: VBG4), VBG7W, VBG9a DIN VDE 0100, DIN VDE 0105 EN (part 1) Local EVU regulations (TAB s), as well as the general technical rules. 2.2 Safety-Conscious Operation Disconnect from voltage all units, at which work has to be carried out. Secure the unit against unauthorised operation. Caution! Sharp edges possible! Wear gloves, safety shoes and suitable protective clothing during transport. Only use stable lifting platforms and scaffolding for mounting work! 2.3 Modifications on the Unit Do not carry out any modifications, rebuilding or add-on to the solarium without prior consultation with the manufacturer as the safety and function may be affected. Do not carry out any measures on the unit which have not been mentioned in these instructions. Customer add-on units and cable laying have to be suitable for the system. 3

8.50 Kampmann Equestrian Solarium Perfect Installation 3. Installation 3.1 Place of Installation No special demands are made on the place of installation of a Kampann Perfect Equestrian Solarium.

In addition, you must make sure that the ceiling in the place of installation is high enough and offers a sufficient load-bearing capacity - the unit must be borne securely over a long period of time

4 8.50 Kampmann Equestrian Solarium Perfect Installation 3. Installation 3.1 Place of Installation No special demands are made on the place of installation of a Kampann Perfect Equestrian Solarium. It should, however be a dry, frost-free area without a draught. The installation near horse bathing areas is not recommended. In addition, you must make sure that the ceiling in the place of installation is high enough and offers a sufficient load-bearing capacity - the unit must be borne securely over a long period of time without the occurence of oscillation. Kampmann Equestrian Solarium Perfect, Type Splashing water affects the lifespan of the lamps! Danger - electric current! Before drilling, make sure the position of the drill holes is not near to any electrical cables or piping. At a minimum installation height for large horses of 2300 mm from the lower edge of the solarium to the upper edge of the finished floor, the required minimum ceiling height inclusive of sufficient installation clearance is about 3200 mm. Depending on the requested insolation distance, a minimum ceiling height of 3400 mm to 4200 mm is required if a horse solarium with hoist is to be installed. Places of installation with lateral restrictions (side walls) have proven to be advantageous as they enable an easy positioning of the horse. 3.2 Mounting Accessories The solarium is mounted via 4 suspension points on the top of the unit. A ceiling mounting kit type is optionally available for the suspension. This comprises: - 4 anchorages, 10 mm - 4 ring nuts with lock nuts, M 10-4 tightening locks, M8, with 2 openings - 8 carabiner hooks, 8 x 80 mm - 4 chains, 1400 mm each Please ensure that the ceiling structure and the ceiling fittings are strong enough to take the weight of the solarium! 5 Kampmann Equestrian Solarium Perfect The Technique of the Kampmann Equestrian Solarium Perfect Operation The Technique of the Kampmann Equestrian Solarium Perfect The staggered infrared (IR) and ultraviolet (UV) lamps of the solarium cover the horse with a pleasant radiant heat, optionally with the IR or UV spectrum (or IR and UV together). On account of the curved construction of the solarium, the radiation does not only reach the neck, back and croup of the horse, but also the lateral body parts. Button: stop Switching on of the solarium via the main switch Only for solaria with hoist: set requested height Selection of lamps: - Infrared (IR) lamps ON and / or - Ultraviolet (UV) lamps ON Set the operating time using the timer Press the start key; the time starts running To stop prematurely, press the stop button If the solarium is to be used for more than one horse at a time, it is recommended to set the complete operating time using the time switch to avoid a repeated switching on and off of the lamps. UV lamps After switching off the UV lamps, these need a few minutes to cool down before they are switched on again! The illuminants become hot over longer operating times. Direct contact will lead to burns! 5

Does the wall and/or ceiling have a sufficient load-bearing capacity? Does the mounting site meet the necessary general conditions with respect to the permissible field of application (compare to page 3: Limits of Use )? The unit may be mounted only if the required safety clothing is worn! The installation may be carried out only with suitable aids such as lifting gear and/or other persons! 7. Electrical System 7.1. Electrical Connection Values: see page 5 Technical Data. 7.3 Fuse Protection The individual lamp groups are already protected separately in the control circuit cabinet. Fuse protection to be provided by the customer: 3 x 400 V/16 A 7.4 Cable Laying All of the cables have to be laid according to the diagram rendered below. All core numbers must include the necessary protective conductor (PE). 7.5 Laying Electric Cables The connection is established at the central terminal box of the Kampmann Equestrian Solarium Perfect. The central terminal box is located behind the rear unit cover. When laying the cables, please observe the separate CAD circuit diagram! The cable entries on the upper side of the unit have been reserved for the cables. 1. Remove the front cover (screwed on at the top and bottom) 2. Unscrew the front lamp 3. Disassemble the radiation protection (metal cover) 7.2 Electrical Integration Prior to electrical installation, please observe the following safety advice: Disable the system s power at the main switch and secure it against being re-enabled Remove fuses or switch the unit off The equipment must only be connected and serviced by authorised experts! Only connect and wire the unit in accordance with the enclosed wiring schematics. Only connect the device to permanently-installed cables 4. Remove the cover of the terminal box 6

9 Kampmann Equestrian Solarium Perfect Commissioning Commissioning 8.1 Pre-Commissioning Checks Turn all of the switches on the panel to OFF Have all unit parts been correctly connected according to the applicable circuit diagram? Has the protective conductor (PE) been connected properly to all unit parts? Is there a supply voltage (400 V)? Carrying out these checks involves working on some parts of the system which are connected to the mains. The checks can only be carried out by qualified technical personnel in accordance with appropriate safety directives. Control panel, type Switching on the Solarium Switch on the supply voltage (switch on the fuses) Switch on the unit at the main switch Set an operating time using the timer (e.g., 5 minutes) Press the green start button Switch on or off components one at a time, e.g., 1. UV lamps 2. IR lamps Once the time has elapsed or the stop button has been pressed, all components should switch off automatically. 8.3 Commissioning - Hoist Check whether the complete travel area of the unit is free. Check correct operation of the hoist controller: - Press the UP button. The hoist will move upwards. - Release the UP button. The hoist will stop. - Press the UP button and hold. The hoist will move to the maximum position and stop automatically. - Press the DOWN button. The hoist will move downwards. - Release the DOWN button. The hoist will stop. - Press the DOWN button and hold. The hoist will move to the minimum position and stop automatically. Control panel including hoist, type If the hoist is moved to outside the permissible travel range (upper/lower) due to a defect or faulty wiring of the limit switch, an emergency shut-down switch has been fitted for shutting down the hoist in an emergency. This is displayed in the form of a fault indicator lamp. The area below the solarium must be evacuated immediately. The reason for the alarm must be determined immediately. 9

Maintenance Prior to starting any maintenance work, the main switch on the control cabinet of the Kampmann Equestrian Solarium Perfect must be turned off! Secure the system against unauthorised restoration of power! 9.1 Arrangement of the Lamps 8 ultraviolet lamps with 300 W each 17 infrared lamps with 250 W each Please use lamps of identical make and with the same wattage only! Replacement lamps can be purchased from the solarium manufacturer, Kampmann GmbH. 9.2 Cleaning the Lamps The lamps must be checked for soiling at regular intervals. Severely soiled lamps reduce their performance and decrease their service life. The lamps have to cool down completely before they can be cleaned. Use a soft, moist cloth to remove the soiling while applying gentle pressure. A mild detergent may be used for the removal of stubborn dirt particles. Arrangement of the lamps Do not use any aggressive detergents or scouring agents! 10

When using the electronic time counter, the light controller should be installed in a separate, lockable room. This prevents the unwanted adjustment of the different switches.

11 Kampmann Equestrian Solarium Perfect Electronic Time Counter -Token Machine Malfunctions Electronic Time Counter, Type The electronic time counter makes it possible to operate the Kampmann equestrian solaria with tokens Installation The telectronic time counter can be installed at a dry and dust-free location, independent of the light controller. When using the electronic time counter, the light controller should be installed in a separate, lockable room. This prevents the unwanted adjustment of the different switches. The electronic time counter can be overriden using the timing switch integrated in the light controller. This allows the solarium to be operated without a token being inserted in the slot. Token vending machine, type Method of Operation The operating time provided for one token can be set to between 1 and 1890 seconds or minutes. Once a token has been inserted in the slot, the solarium is released for operation for a preset length of time. The unit operates without a token accumulation feature. This means that tokens inserted when the unit is already running do not extend the operating time and are not reimbursed Token Machine, Type The -token machine makes it possible to operate the Kampmann equestrian solaria with 1 coins. An operating duration of between 1 and 255 minutes can be set. coin vending machine type Installation The -token machine can be installed at a dry and dust-free location, independent of the light controller (note: protection type IP20). When using a -token machine, the light controller should be installed in a separate, lockable room. This prevents the unwanted adjustment of the different switches Method of Operation The operating time can be set to between 1 and 255 minutes per coin. Once a coin has been inserted in the slot, the equestrian solarium is released for operation for a preset length of time. 12.
