2 The official start On 10 June 2013, the Ministers of Transport of the Netherlands, Germany and Austria signed the Memorandum of Understanding on the setting up of the C-ITS corridor. 2

4 The strategic objectives Mobility is a key factor both for individual freedom and the quality of life as well as for economic success Against the background of dynamically increasing traffic demands, the adoption of an overall perspective of mobility is a crucial future challenge Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) can make an essential contribution to ensure mobility in the future In the national ITS action plans of Germany, Austria and the Netherlands cooperative systems and services (C-ITS) are decisive elements to enhance road safety and to increase the efficiency of the transport systems The effective and efficient cooperation between the road operators, the automotive industry and the service providers of C-ITS are of essential importance to the successful introduction of these systems and services 4

Preliminary development and "proof-of-concept" with roadworks warning trailers in Hesse around Frankfurt/Main, by extending the Dutch test environment DITCM, and within the Austrian project ECO-AT The corridor is the basis for the further development of cooperative services. 2. Introduction of the two first applications in the Cooperative ITS Corridor (NL DE AT) Road Works Warning Improved traffic management by cooperative vehicle data 3. Introduction at national level 6
