2 Preface: The Institute of Automotive Engineering (FTG) of Graz University of Technology celebrates the 15 th anniversary in Since the first year the Commercial Vehicle Workshop is organised. This will be now the 8 th time, with continuously growing number of participants. From the submitted contributions the programme committee compiled an interesting and diversified programme. It is focused on the topics of innovative commercial vehicles and goods transport, automated driving functions, driving resistances and emissions, electrification and safety. In particular, we are looking forward to an informative exchange of experience between commercial vehicle experts. This will take place in the well-known familiar environment of the workshop. The basic seminar Focus Automotive Engineering Graz opens the Commercial Vehicle Workshop. This year, it addresses automated driving of commercial vehicles. Invited speakers provide a summarizing overview of the topic and recent research results. Finally, we would like to invite you to the evening reception at the town hall of Graz on behalf of the Mayor, an interesting program for accompanying persons and a visit to our institute and it s laboratories. Graz s bar scene is worth the trip. Lively and charming, it invites one of epicurean enjoyments, stroll and flirting; full of ideas, it convinces one with its food and abience. Street cafes, bars, beer gardens, wine bars and jazz clubs reveal themselves to be openminded and simply let the night end at the first sign of daybreak. To sum up: Graz has the culture of a metropolis, the charm of a well kept inside tip and the flair of the Mediterranean flavor of life.
