As a result, its performance seems more comparable to an internal combustion forklift than an ordinary DC powered electric. Available in both 36 and 48 volt electric power systems, the 7FBCU is nothing short of an engineering marvel. It's the result of persistent curiosity, proven technology and breakthrough design all driven by a single vision: to create a AC DRIVE SYSTEM superior-performing electric forklift that helps boost productivity and reduce operating costs. Mission accomplished. The 7FBCU features the revolutionary Power Keep Function, the cornerstone of these large electrics. Using advanced power regeneration technology, the 7FBCU recovers energy from its own momentum and directs it back to the battery. 4 THE SYSTEM OF ACTIVE STABILITY: RAISING FORKLIFT SAFETY TO A HIGHER STANDARD. Each year, more than 68,000 forklift accidents are reported in the United States. Suffice it to say, operator training isn't enough to reduce the number of incidents; however, it is, perhaps, the most important component. Naturally, the best approach to preventing forklift accidents is one that Toyota developed the world s first System of Active Stability. combines the efforts of every person, business and organization involved. As for forklift manufacturers, Toyota decided to take the lead role. The result was creating the world's first System of Active Stability (SAS). Using technology originally developed for Toyota's automotive safety systems, SAS is able to electronically monitor and control forklift operations, helping to reduce the risk of accidents. In short, when the SAS system detects instability, its advanced sensors simultaneously signal and engage the appropriate controller, such as the Active Control Toyota sets the standard for forklift safety design. 5 SAS Active Control Rear Stabilizer The Active Control Rear Stabilizer is specially designed to create added lateral stability in situations WITHOUT SAS where a slight error in judgment occurs, like misjudging the load or taking a corner WITH SAS WORLD S FIRST too fast. When it senses instability, the Active Control Rear Stabilizer automatically activates the Swing Lock Cylinder, locking the rear axle securely in place and reducing the risk of a tipover. SAS Active Mast Function Controller The Active Mast Function Controller is uniquely engineered to help give operators added confidence when handling loads of varying sizes and weights at greater heights. Depending upon these variables, the Forward Tilt Angle Controller is WITHOUT SAS WITH SAS designed to automatically override the operator s manual control. When it senses instability, it limits the forward tilt angle of the mast and decreases the chances of spilling a load or tipping over the forklift. Yet another measure of stability, the Rear Tilt Speed Controller automatically decreases the mast's reverse tilt speed to help maintain a stable load. The SAS Swing Lock Cylinder increases lateral stability for improved forklift operability. The Active Mast Function Controller controls the mast tilt angle and speed, depending on the weight and height of the load.
