4 Compact Solar Charger Warranty Details The product is guaranteed to be free from defects in workmanship and parts for a period of 12 months from the date of purchase. Defects that occur within this warranty period, under normal use and care, will be repaired, replaced or refunded at our discretion. The benefits conferred by this warranty are in addition to all rights and remedies in respect of the product that the consumer has under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 and similar state and territory laws. Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. Appropriate usage: Only operate the solar power charger according to the instructions in this manual. We assume no responsibility for faulty use or inappropriate handling. Usage restriction: This product is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instructions concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children: Supervise young children to ensure they do not play with the product. Protect from moisture: Do not let the Compact Solar Charger get wet. Do not place the Compact Solar Charger near a water source. Do not expose it to rain. Shock protection: Do not drop this equipment or shake it vigorously to avoid damaging the product and the built-in battery. Damage: Do not use the Compact Solar Charger if any part of the product (the charger, connector extension cable, USB charging cable or adaptor) is damaged. In case of damage, contact our after sales support line for advice on repair or replacement. Protect the solar panel: Do not scrape the surface of the Compact Solar Charger with any sharp objects. Cleaning: If required, clean the housing of the device lightly with a dry, lint-free cloth. Do not use alcohol, thinners, benzene or any other chemical cleaner. Repair: This device is a high precision electronic product. It contains no userserviceable parts inside. Do not try to dismantle, modify or repair the device or its accessories yourself. Disassembly by unauthorised persons will void the warranty. Safe use: Overvoltage protection for the charging circuit and your mobile device. Before first use Unpack the product but keep all packaging materials until you have made sure your new Compact Solar Charger is undamaged and in good working order. Plastic wrapping can be a suffocation hazard for babies and young children, so ensure all packaging materials are out of their reach. Consider recycling when disposing of the packaging. Inspect the charger, cables and adaptors for damage. Do not use the product if any part has been damaged or is not working properly. 8 Instructions Charging the in-built battery Before use, the Compact Solar Charger needs to be charged. You can charge it either using solar energy or via the supplied USB charging cable connected to your computer. Charging with solar energy Place the charger with the solar panel side up in direct sunlight. The solar energy will convert to electrical energy and charge the in-built rechargeable battery so it can supply the stored energy to your devices. Charging via USB cable Connect the Solar Power Charger to your computer with the supplied Mini USB charging cable. The LED indicator light will illuminate red and change to green when the battery is fully charged. Using the Compact Solar Charger Choose the adaptor appropriate for your mobile phone or other digital device and connect it to your device. (The product overview on page 6 lists all adaptors.) If you require an extension cable to your device, connect one end of the connector extension cable to the selected adaptor and the other end to the DC Out socket on the Compact Solar Charger. Alternatively, connect your phone or other digital device directly to the Compact Solar Charger with the appropriate adaptor. Once connected, your phone or other digital device should indicate that it is being charged. You can use your device during charging. Please be aware that if your product is capable of retaining user-generated data (such as files stored on a computer hard drive, telephone numbers stored on a mobile telephone, songs stored on a portable media player, games saved on a games console or files stored on a USB memory stick) during the process of repair, some or all of your stored data may be lost. We recommend that you save this data elsewhere prior to sending the product for repair. You should also be aware that rather than repairing goods, we may replace them with refurbished goods of the same type or use refurbished parts in the repair process. Please be assured though, refurbished parts or replacements are only used where they meet Tempo s stringent quality specifications.
