2 NEWS In 1976, Jussi Mäntylä started building small jet boats for fishing on the rocky shores of Finland...Fast forward almost 40 years and Alamarin-Jet Oy is a world leading manufacturer of water jet propulsion units. The company, now owned by the family run HT Group, is growing at a rapid rate and is reknowned thoughout the world for its quality products, innovation and the highest levels of service. In this issue of GO WITH THE FLOW we will look at some new product introductions and some interesting news from the global Alamarin-Jet network. METS TRADE BETTER THAN EVER One of the biggest exhibitions on the calendar, for both size and importance, METS Trade is a must visit for all professionals. Even though it is technically a show aimed at the superyacht and leisure market, METS attracts visitors from all across the marine sector for its huge variety of exhibitors. Alamarin-Jet have always exhibited at METS and it is often the exhibition to catch up with old friends, colleagues and customers. This year was the most successful yet for Alamarin-Jet, with a very positive feeling coming from all customers, it seems the market is getting stronger day by day.

3 NEW DISTRIBUTOR FOR TURKEY Alamarin-Jet have appointed a new distributor for Turkey. EGS Muh.Elektr. ve Ins.San.Tic.Ltd will take over responsibility for sales and service of Alamarin-Jet products within the region. EGS group of companies have a wide ranging span of marine interests including manufacturing of HDPE workboats, electrical engineering for ships systems, a shipyard for large vessel repair and refit, and mechanical engineering for all ship systems. This enables EGS to give 1st class support to customers and dealers alike. We would like to welcome EGS to the Alamarin-Jet team Alamarin-Jet Technical Manager, Hannu Rantala and EMEA Sales Manager, Martyn Bowden have recently presented a paper at the RINA International Workshop on Water-Jet Propulsion in Shanghai during December. The paper focus on Alamarin-Jets evolution of small water-jets over the last 10 years, specifically on the major developments regarding performance, mainentance and installation. NEWS

(more info next issue) The AJ 285 is the newest jet in the COMBI-FRAME series. The COMBI-FRAME is a patented frame and installation method designed and developed by Alamarin-Jet Oy. The revolutionary jet design allows for both LONG TAIL and SHORT TAIL installation methods, this means that majority of the jet can be situated either inside or outside the hull. This unique feature allows the designer/boat builder to fine tune a vessels design to ensure that weight distribution and engine location are fully optimised. 9 We are proud to announce that our new office in SINGAPORE is now officially open. ALAMARIN-JET ASIA Pte Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of ALAMARIN-JET Oy with the main purpose to increase our sales and product awareness in Asia. We will also support our Asian distributors, dealers and other customers through this new company far more efficiently than was previously possible. Alamarin-Jet Asia Pte Ltd will be managed by Mark Yow who joins us as our new ASIA PACIFIC Manager. Mr. Jukka Teiskonen - HT Group CEO and co-owner - will also be the CEO of the new company. Premises have already been acquired in Singapore but no physical stock - spares or new jets - will be held by Alamarin-Jet Asia Pte Ltd. This will be taken care by our local dealer and partner MARK HALLER, SCANDIA-GROUP. Mark Yow joins us from Nordic Industries (NID) and has a history of more than three years dealing with Alamarin-Jet products. We have used NID for several market studies worldwide, mainly managed and carried out by Mark with huge success.
