1 Bus FAQ s for 2017/18 travel How much is a bus pass? Zone 1 Less than 3 miles from the college per year Zone 2 More than 3 miles from the college per year To see which Zone you come under Please see Which Zone am I? below Want to spread the cost of your bus pass? As soon as you apply for a bus pass and pay the 20 non-refundable administration fee you can start making payments towards the bus pass. How do I apply? All applications for 2017/18 travel must be received by 28th July 2017 to guarantee a space on the bus. A 20 non-refundable administration fee is required with all applications. Any applications received after this date will be noted but there is no guarantee that the bus will have room for you. Applications received without the 20 non-refundable administration fee will not be processed. Please visit the Getting Here section of the website to apply for a bus pass. I am going into my second year, do I need to apply for the bus pass again? Yes an application is required for each academic year

Payments can be made: - Online by credit/debit card. Log in details for the online payment system will be sent once the application and administration fee has been received. - By cash, card or cheque (Payable to Barton Peveril College) at the college shop.

4 I have forgotten my bus pass today Go to the College shop and pay 1, a temporary one day pass will be issued to get you home. I have lost my bus pass Go to the college shop and pay the 15 fee. A temporary pass will be issued and a new one ordered for you. Can I use the college bus if I don t have a pass? The college shop can provide bus passes for single journeys at a cost of 4 (Please note we will only be able to issue these as one offs. If you are using a college bus more than twice a week you will need to purchase an annual pass.) This will only be possible if there is space on the bus. Can I use any of the Xelabus services if I don t have a pass? You can purchase single tickets for any Xelabus service from the driver on the bus Can I apply for financial help for the cost of the bus pass? Yes, please visit: Please note you will still need to apply for a space on the college bus and pay the 20 administration fee if you are applying for financial support. Can I only use my bus pass on college buses? Bluestar passes are valid on all Bluestar & Unilink service routes after 8.00 (Including evenings, weekends & half terms) They are also valid on First 28,28A, X4 & X5 until on college days. Please note you cannot use your bus pass on any other college bus. You will only be permitted for travel on the college bus that is detailed on your bus pass. Can I use my bus pass on weekends/evenings? Yes!

5 The bus is late/not arrived what do I do? There may be an accident, heavy traffic or the bus may have broken down. Please be patient, it will turn up or a replacement vehicle will arrive to bring you into college. Students that use any of the Bluestar buses will be provided with a telephone number on enrolment to call if the bus is more than 15 minutes late to get an update on the service. Please transport@barton.ac.uk with your request. I have passed my driving test can I have a refund for my bus pass? No refunds will be made for the bus pass if a student has passed their driving test. When applying for the bus pass you are committing for that route for the whole year. Will the bus only stop at the bus stops detailed on the timetable? The bus will stop at request stops along the route. You must put your hand out to signal the bus to stop. Can I change which college bus I use? If you would like to change from one college bus to another please transport@barton.ac.uk with the details. Please note there is no guarantee that there will be space for you on another bus but all requests will be considered. Remember. To use the college bus you must have your College ID together with your bus pass on you at all times.
