3 SmartstartT TECHNOLOGY T What is Smartstart? The patented Smartstart control module is an integrated, seamless solution that incorporates operator control, superior motor protection, and automation system compatibility in a rugged, compact unit. It offers a wide range overload and an extensive array of automation and control features that vary between models. Some of these features include Fireman s override, damper or valve control, Status (proof of flow), fault and shutdown, and more. The Smartstart module also accepts an incoming voltage range from VAC. This is true plug and play: no changing transformers, no messing with terminal blocks. T How does Smartstart work? Smartstart takes an active role in protecting your motor by measuring the motor inrush current and using it to gauge a safe operating range for your motor. In this way it intelligently detects if your motor overload isn t set correctly, protects against locked rotor, cycle fault, stall conditions, and more. The unique functionality of Smartstart saves time, labor, and stocking units. It also provides superior motor protection.
