18 Putting the Train into Service RTG anticipates turning over the system to the City by November 2, 2018 Once the City accepts the system, OC Transpo has a number of complex activities to complete before putting the light rail system into service The City anticipates service will start in November 2018, as long as RTG achieves its requirements
19 How will the opening of the O-Train Confederation Line change my trip? Bus routes across the entire OC Transpo network are being transformed to provide connections to the O-Train Confederation Line. Changes are being implemented gradually leading up to and shortly after the opening of the Confederation Line to ensure a smooth transition to the 2018 transit network. Customers will be able to use the Ready for Rail Travel Planner on octranspo.com to plan their trips in Information on upcoming changes will be released through many customer communication channels
20 O-Train Confederation Line Multi-Modal Transformation The O-Train Confederation Line (Line 1) will: Transform Ottawa s transit system into a multi-modal transit system; Transform the customer experience and the way customers travel; Provide easy and reliable commuting via the downtown tunnel; Support continued economic growth Customers from Stittsville and Kanata will connect to Line 1 at Tunney s Pasture Station 19 19

23 Changes Already Implemented The opening of the West Transitway extension improves the reliability of peak period commutes to/from Downtown New Moodie Station provides an improved connection to Carling Campus / DND, faster and more reliable service to/from Kanata and Stittsville Route 167 modified to serve the growing communities of Blackstone and Abbottsville Crossing. Hours of service extended with new midday, afternoon, and evening service. Route 252 extended to serve the growing communities of Trailwest and Fernbank Crossing. Paved Carp Road Park & Ride lot

Routes 61, 62, 252, 261, 262, 263 shortened to Tunney s Pasture Station shortly after Line 1 begins operating Some morning trips on Route 61 extended to Gatineau Existing afternoon trips from Gatineau will be maintained O-Train Line 1 will operate every five minutes or less from Tunney s Pasture Station through downtown to Blair Station during rush hours
