Teleservices (SA6AE) The Service Teleservices is aimed at maitaiig the customer s mobility. Techical data for the vehicle (e.g. service iformatio o the wear ad tear of idividual parts, vehicle status iformatio such as cotrol messages, battery charge level, data for idetifyig ad localizig the vehicle i the evet of a breakdow) are trasmitted to BMW as required or if this process is triggered or ordered by the customer himself/herself. I the case of a service requiremet, these data, together with the ame ad the address of the customer as stored withi the BMW CoectedDrive customer portal, will be forwarded via the SIM card permaetly istalled i the vehicle to the resposible Service Parter, BMW Roadside Assistace or appropriate service provider for the purpose of establishig cotact or arragig a appoitmet. These data will be stored by the recipiet util the operatios have bee duly processed. No additioal trasfer of the data to third parties takes place. Techical data are trasmitted from the vehicle to BMW at regular itervals, where they are evaluated for the cotiuig developmet of BMW products, i a process called the Teleservice Report. This exclusively ivolves purely techical data relatig to the status of the vehicle. Other data, such as positio data, are ot trasmitted withi the scope of the Teleservice Report. The Teleservice Battery Guard cotiuously ispects the battery chargig status of the vehicle. If the battery chargig status falls below a defied level, iformatio to this effect is trasmitted to the resposible Service parter, who will, if ecessary, establish cotact with the customer i order to arrage a service appoitmet. By registerig i the BMW CoectedDrive customer portal ( My BMW CoectedDrive ), the customer ca also arrage to be otified of a critical battery chargig status due to a parkig light havig bee left switched o by text message or, i the case of BMWi, by push mail. b. For BMWi vehicles oly: The Teleservice Battery Guard cotiuously moitors the battery-charge status of the vehicle. If the battery-charge status falls below a fixed value, the resposible service parter will be iformed. It is impossible to trace the aoymised vehicle sesor data ad usage iformatio back to a idividual customer. This vehicle sesor data icludes (amogst others) iformatio about traffic sigs, traffic lights, costructio sites, local hazards, traffic flow, road characteristics, parkig spots, or vehicle error etries. For example, iformatio about traffic sigs are beig used to ehace map data quality ad to optimize route guidace. Local hazards like fog are beig used to ehace data quality of traffic iformatio ad to avoid accidets. The usage iformatio is collected to create aoymous usage statistics about the system fuctioality. The traffic iformatio required for the service is calculated by a variety of meas icludig usig what is kow as Floatig Car Data. I this sese, every CoectedDrive-capable BMW fuctios as a mobile traffic reporter (Floatig Car). The idividual positio ad sesor data of the vehicle calculated durig the trip is trasferred completely aoymously to BMW ad a service provider together with up-to-date time iformatio. 6. Remote Services (SA6AP) Registratio o My BMW CoectedDrive at is a prerequisite for the Remote Services (SA6AP) fuctio. This Service has to be booked oce ad ca the be used for a ulimited period of time. Usig this Service, the customer ca lock or ulock his/her vehicle from a distace via smartphoe ad, i the case of selected vehicles, soud the hor ad flash the lights.
