6 10405 Merrill Road P.O. Box 157 Hamburg, MI Phone: Fax: MEMORANDUM To: Patrick J. Hohl, Supervisor Hamburg Twp. Municipal Utilities Committee From: Brittany K. Campbell, Purchasing Agent Date: April 23 rd, 2013 Re: Anytime Fitness Expansion to Suite Chilson Commons Anytime Fitness currently leases a 2,970 square foot space known at Suite 102 in Building E of the Chilson Commons development. A Land Use Permit (LUP) has been applied to expand the Anytime Fitness business to include Suite 103 which represents an additional 1,640 square feet of space. The bathroom spaces from this suite will be removed to use the entire space for workout areas and additional equipment space. The sewer tap (1 REU) of $4, was paid in full on July 6, 2010 by the developer when Chilson Commons, LLC applied for a White Box build-out of Suite 103. As a result, the new square footage for Anytime Fitness will be as follows: New Total 2,970 sq. ft. - existing space (Suite 102) 1,640 sq. ft. - new space (Suite 103) 4,610 sq. ft. Anytime Fitness is currently assessed at 0.4/1000 sq. ft. equaling 1.19 REUs. A new REU determination was made using the current Ordinance No. 69F unit factor of 0.4 REUs per 1000 sq. ft. for the increased space of 4,610 sq. ft. (4,610 * 0.40 = 1, = 1.84 REUs). I therefore recommend that the O & M for Anytime Fitness be increased to 1.84 REUs upon receipt of their Certificate of Occupancy.

11 10405 Merrill Road P.O. Box 157 Hamburg, MI Phone: Fax: To: Municipal Utilities Committee From: Tony Randazzo Date: Re: DPW Monthly Report 1. Sodium testing resumed in the month of April. We are pursuing an aggressive test schedule this summer. Sodium levels at the plant are currently in the ppm range. 2. The plant was in compliance for the month of April. The plant has not been out of compliance for one day due to total inorganic nitrogen or phosphorus since September. 3. The heat exchanger at the Wastewater plant was turned off on April 29 th. The unit performed better than expected throughout the winter without becoming plugged. The plant staff has also switched from using PAX-14 for winter treatment to Aluminum Sulfate for summer operations. 4. Grinder calls rose dramatically in April due to high rainfall and the seasonal use of some of the homes on the system. The average age of our pumps plays a role as well. 5. We have noticed high amounts of rainfall infiltration impacting our flow rate from the gravity portion of our sewer system. We will smoke test the gravity sewers and possibly use a camera to detect illicit connections and leaking manholes.
