6 Company Profile ATOP was founded by professionals having decades of experience in the field of machines for the production of wound stators and rotors of electric motors. Due to a consolidated know-how, combined with the continuous search for innovative solutions, in recent years ATOP has reached a global leading position. ATOP is proposed to customers as an ideal partner for the development and design of innovation technology aimed at industrializing and producing conventional and special electric stators and rotors. Particular focus is on production and quality needs of the field where the company operates. The two decades of well-established experience in the design and manufacturing of manual/stand alone, semi automatic machines, up to lines and/or fully automatic systems with high productivity and quality, allow ATOP to satisfy even the most demanding customers with flexibility and promptness, by means of cutting-edge projects with high technological content. Development and innovation are therefore the basis of the modus operandi of ATOP, always searching for new challenges and successful conclusions, in order to gain constant growth of know-how and design, and production skills. 7 In January 2004, ATOP acquires the Company AXIS S.p.A. together with its production brands: AXIS, PAVESI and CORA- GLIOTTO. As well as having preserved the highly specialized staff and know-how, ATOP also acquires the customer portfolio, ensuring continuity in production, technical support and customer care. This acquisition has enabled further consolidation of the presence of ATOP on international markets, expanding the possibilities of application of its technologies in increasingly differentiated market areas. The production of such stators requires increasingly complex assembly processes, combined with a strong design capability. These features are constantly offered by ATOP to its customers. 24 The recent introduction of traction electric motors manufactured with hairpin technology encouraged ATOP to invest in a research and development program for automatic machines that produce these types of motors. With a consolidated know-how in manufacturing special machines, ATOP has achieved considerable results in a relatively short time, accomplishing the design and manufacture of innovative machines and automatic lines for the assembly of hairpin motors, and becoming a reference point for the market. The assembly of these motors requires maximum accuracy and speed in movements; such as the insertion of hairpins into the rotor stack which is guaranteed by ATOP machines due to an excellent control of each phase of the process.
