1 INSTRUCTIONS WIS Gillette Battery Replacement PROJECT # s: P Gillette Battery / Fuse REPLACEMENT Project Contacts: Project Manager: Tim Chapman (813) Project Coordinator: Ashley Hardy (813) APPROXIMATE TIME NEEDED PER VISIT minutes in-store target time; a little more where there might more than one display unit ( Wal- Mart ONLY). MATERIALS NEEDED: Camera to take picture of sign off sheet Phillips Screwdriver, Flathead Screwdriver, black electrical tape, scissors Replacement battery packs, 1 square adhesive pads and fuses (which will be shipped to you) A printed copy of these account instructions with you in the store each day (IMPORTANT)! Printed copy of how to replace lithium battery units (available on the WIS web) Printed copy of how to install alkaline fuses (available on the WIS web) Multiple copies of the CVS authorization letter found on the Web. The store may want a copy! Activity Sheets you will need one for each visit. (have extra store may want a copy) Name tag OBJECTIVE WIS (Apollo) has been asked by to install replacement batteries in the Gillette demo units where lithium batteries have been removed. We will also install fuses into other units that still have alkaline batteries. The photo above shows you the display. It s about 9 inches wide, 12 inches tall and 9 inches deep. Some units had lithium batteries and other units had alkaline. The issue was with lithium and WIS project was to remove the lithium batteries. Many units have alkaline batteries and these did not need to be removed. However, now we do need to install a small fuse in the battery box of the alkaline units, a simple procedure. There are different procedures to follow depending on the type of batteries that were/are in the Gillette demo unit. The units with Lithium batteries are the ones WIS removed in project (if you were involved). For these Lithium units we are now putting new alkaline battery packs into the unit. These battery packs will come, shipped to you, ready to install into the unit. There are some display units that already have alkaline batteries. In these, two fuses need to be installed. Here, we will remove the alkaline battery pack and install just the fuses (a simple procedure). In some of your visits you will install just battery packs and in some just fuses. Where the units had Lithium batteries that (WIS) removed, we will install new alkaline battery packs. Where the units already have alkaline batteries, we will install the two fuses. 2 Larger stores (Target, Walmart) you will likely have multiple units - some may need batteries and others may need fuses. Be prepared when going into each store to have both battery packs and fuses with you! Tools Please have with you: a Phillips screwdriver to unscrew the battery box, a Flathead screwdriver to POSSIBLY assist in accessing the back panel of the display, a pair of scissors to cut the tape that seals the alkaline batteries together inside the battery box, and black electrical tape to re-secure batteries after installing fuses. Steps to completing your visit: Secure a cart, where available, when entering the store. Find a location manager and explain the purpose for your visit. o Show them as necessary the P&G Authorization Letter (available on the web) At CVS, also show them the authorization letter (available on the web) Ask the manager where the Gillette Demo Display is located. If a larger store such as Wal-Mart, Target, etc please ask if they have more than one demo unit (they likely do). You will need to complete this task with all of them. If the store is not familiar with your request show them the picture of the display on the front page of these instructions. Ask if there is someone from the HABA/HBA department who can help you find it (if necessary). There IS a chance the store pulled the unit to the backroom. It must be in the store. If you cannot find a unit in the store then you will answer 0 to the activity question about how many units were found. Explain in comments what happened (couldn t locate the unit). This will likely cause a revisit so look carefully and ask!! Once you have found the unit (s) follow the SEPARATE instructions that are on the WIS Web for either Lithium Battery Replacement or Alkaline Fuse Installation. Upon completing each unit, make sure it is working. If it isn t working, make sure the motion sensor on the front is not covered (with tape) and make sure all the connections to the battery boxes are good. If you still cannot make the demo unit work, then note this on the activity form. Look for additional units in the store (Walmart and Target) and repeat. o Most locations have one (but ask). Most Target stores have two (ask). Most Wal-Mart stores have three (ask). o Complete you activity sheet (reporting) and proceed to your next store. NOTE: Each individual display holding the actual Demo Unit may be a bit different. Attached are PDF examples of different units and how to remove the back panel without destroying the display. Review all PDF instructions on the web before starting your visits. How to Decide to Replace The Battery vs. Install a Fuse LITHIUM Battery Replacement (installing new alkaline battery packs): These units should not have any batteries in it (they were already removed). If you did the project for battery removal, these are the units where you removed the batteries. SINCE THIS IS A NEW BATTERY PACK YOU DO NOT NEED TO INSTALL FUSES. Refer to the Attached How to Replace Lithium Battery Units ALKALINE Battery Fuse Installation (Installing 2 fuses into existing alkaline units): These units will have battery packs inside and the label will be green on the battery pack and say Alkaline. The batteries in these units are good we just need to install the two fuses into the battery pack. Very simple. 3 Photos Required to be Uploaded You will be required to take a photo of the signed activity form and upload to M.A.R.S. Make sure the form is signed by the manager you worked with in the store and the WIS (Apollo) Rep. Activity form Sample (pull from web) YOU WILL NEED TO TAKE A PHOTO OF THIS SIGNED SHEET AND UPLOAD TO THE WIS WEB. MAKE SURE THE PHOTO IS CLEAR SO YOU CAN READ THE FORM.
