Developed in collaboration with Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles and Bösenberg, for the first time ever the electrical system of the command vehicle can exchange information with the base vehicle. 8 EMERGENCY VEHICLE 8 THE SYSTEM VW Crafter Alternator Starter battery The electrical system in this vehicle revolves around a state-of-the-art Mastervolt Lithium Ion battery, providing the longest possible autonomy without the need for recharging. The system allows for DC and AC power in stand-alone operation at any location. The Mastervolt Lithium Ion battery can either be charged from an external plug-in, or from the alternator via the starter battery when driving. It provides safe charging thanks to the direct MasterBus (CAN) communication between the MLI Ultra and the Mac Pro. It is able to provide full secondary battery charging even when the smart Euro 5/6 alternator voltage drops to 12.5 volt. Its automatic on/off behaviour prevents draining your starter battery at all times.

Mastervolt s MasterBus CAN fully cooperates with CZone digital switching CAN protocol through the unique bridge interface. All power electronics and digital switching components are controlled by two small EasyView 5 touch screens. CZone MasterBus Wireless interface controls all the available components from an ipad; the promotion trailer can be controlled from anywhere inside the vehicle. Two latching relays make the battery pack function as two separate, redundant power sources. When one battery is switched off the show goes on with the second battery. The components were a third of the costs of the traditional industrial system we used before, and the CZone digital control & monitoring network simplifies installation of our electrical systems via the replacement of complicated, cumbersome wiring. With the Alpha Pro regulator, the second alternator turns in to a 3-step+ battery charger for very fast and safe charging. Should the grid connection fail, the Mass Combi Ultra will take over within a minute, ensuring all AC loads continue operation uninterrupted. It accepts ST Blade Fuses circuits up to 30 A with a maximum of 100 A per block. Proper safety by use of the cover, fuses are easy to access, and there is space for two spare fuses, and label recesses that accept Blue Sea Systems Small Format Labels for circuit identification.

This search for efficiency has led to tanker trucks with a capacity of up to 29,500 litres collecting milk on various farms and delivering it on the same day. These trucks are equipped with a hydraulic pumping system, traditionally driven by the vehicle s engine. To optimise and improve milk collection, the Maisonneuve Group now equips its tanker vehicles with battery-operated electric pumps capable of running when the engine is off. 23 23 HYBRID MILK TRUCK YOUR BENEFITS The Mastervolt Lithium Ion battery can easily deliver the requested 200 A of pumping power. The Mastervolt Lithium Ion battery receives large currents from the truck alternator so that it is quickly charged while driving from one dairy farmer to the next. The ChargeMaster AC charger can charge the Lithium Ion battery safely overnight thanks to the direct MasterBus communication between the battery and the charger. This allows the milk truck to start working early in the morning with a full battery and a reliable system. The MasterBus ModBus Interface makes it easy to send important data to the dairy drivers PLC system so that they can accurately monitor it.
