2 How solar works? Solar Panels - how do they work?: Solar panels are made of photovoltaic cells that convert radiation to direct crrent electricity (DC electricity). As long as rays are hitting yor roof, rain or shine, yor panels are converting solar radiation into DC electricity. Bt in order to get the kind of power needed to trn the lights on in yor living room, yo ll need an inverter. Inverter: The inverter is a device that takes the DC electricity prodced by yor solar panels and trns it into alternating crrent electricity (AC electricity). It s typically installed on an exterior wall of yor hose or company, or in the garage. In case of microinverters, they are installed directly nder the solar panels. 9 Steps to be part of the solar revoltion 1. Site Assessment: A technician will visit yo in yor home to confirm yor system design, verify measrements, and adjst for shade and obstrctions on yor roof. Timing: 1week 2. Design Approval: Following site evalation, or solar design experts will make any necessary adjstments and yo for final approval. Timing: 1 week 3. Permitting: Once yo give the green light we ll sbmit yor design to the city for permitting. The timing now depends on how qickly local government works and can take p to eight weeks.
