14 130.1 Mandatory Indoor Lighting Controls Shut-Off Controls: All installed indoor lighting shall be equipped with the following: Ø Occupancy sensors or automatic time-switches Ø Separate controls for each floor Ø Area controlled may not exceed 5,000 ft 2 Exemptions: v Partial-off controls are required for warehouses, libraries, stairwells, and parking garages 14
15 130.1 Mandatory Indoor Lighting Controls Daylighting Controls: Areas skylit, primary sidelit, and secondary sidelit Luminaires in skylit and primary sidelit areas need to be independently controlled When sunlight results in 150% or more of design illuminance, general lighting shall be reduced by at least 65% Parking garages are included 15
16 130.1 Mandatory Indoor Lighting Controls Automatic Demand Response Controls: Buildings larger than 10,000 ft 2 with a lighting power density over 0.5 W/ft 2 need to be capable of ADR Ø Total lighting power must be able to decrease at least 15% Controls must be capable of receiving and automatically responding to at least one standards-based messaging protocol Ø OpenADR is the most popular 16
