4 6 7 model no contact us: model no contact us: Assembly Battery IMPORTANT The battery is not shipped fully charged. It is recommended that the battery be fully charged before the initial use. With regular use, the battery pack will take 90 MINUTES or less to charge fully. It is recommended that the battery be charged every 3 months when the trimmer is not in use. The battery s run time will improve after the third or fourth charge. To Remove the battery. Press in and hold the latch buttons ( ) on both side s of the battery pack.. Grasp the trigger handle () firmly. Pull the battery pack out of the handle. 3. NOTE: The battery pack fits snugly into the handle to prevent accidental dislodging. It may require a strong pull to remove. To Install. Align the tongue (3) of the battery pack with the cavity in the handle housing.. Grasp the trigger handle () firmly. 3. Push the battery pack into the handle until both sides lock. The latch buttons will click when they lock. 4. Do not use force when inserting the battery pack. It should slide into place and click. Guard. Remove the battery pack.. Invert the grass trimmer to access the trimmer head. 3. Using a Phillips head screwdriver, remove th e preinstalled screw () from the trimmer head. 4. Place the guard () on to the trimmer head and turn the guard 45 following the track on the head. 5. Align the screw hole on the guard with the screw hole on the trimmer head. 6. Insert the screw into the trimmer head, fastening the guard in place. WARNING To avoid injury and to reduce the risk of electric shock or fire: Replace the battery pack or charger immediately if the battery case or charger cord is damaged. Always make sure the grass trimmer switch is OFF before inserting or removing the battery pack. Always make sure the battery pack is removed and the switch turned OFF before replacing spools or adjusting the line. Read, understand, and follow the Battery Charger instructions. 3 Assemble the two halves of the SHAFT. Insert the lower shaft(3) into upper shaft().. Then turn the upper shaft() until lock button clicks into place. 3. Turn the lower shaft(3) collar until locked into place. Auxiliary handle. Turn the handle lock knob () counter-clockwise several turns to loosen the auxiliary handle ().. Adjust the handle position to provide the best level of balance and control for the operator. 3. Securely lock the handle in position by turning the knob clockwise. 4. Before operating the grass trimmer, make sure the auxiliary handle is tightly locked into position. Cutting Line: A spool of monofilament cutting line is preinstalled on the grass trimmer. When the cutting line needs replacing, insert a new spool. To remove the spool:. Disconnect trimmer from the power supply.. Turn grass trimmer over to access the spool. 3. Remove spool cover by pressing on two tabs parallel to each other on the side of the cover (). 4. Remove the spool () from the spool housing (3). To replace the spool:. Replace the spool () with a new pre-wound spool.. Insert the end of line through the opening (4) in the spool housing (3). 3. Align the tabs on the spool cover with the slots in the spoo l housing on the trimmer head. 4. Push down on the spool cover, locking it to the spool housing. 5. To advance the line when initially installed, you must pull the line while pressing the black line release button on the side of the spool housing (3). WARNING To avoid injury, adjust the auxiliary handle for optimum control and balance. Do not overreach when operating the grass trimmer. Keep proper balance at all times for better control of the tool in unexpected situations Assembly

Edging function Split and telescoping tube The shaft can be extended or shortened for ease of use.. Unscrew telescoping shaft coupler and slide to desired position.. Tighten telescoping shaft coupler. Operation This trimmer is equipped with an edging feature for use on the sidewalks or walkways, patios and/or driveways to clear over-grown grass from manicured surfaces.. Pull up edging coupler and turn handle end counterclockwise.. Release edging shaft coupler when handle has been rotated Flip the edging guide down until it locks into place. REAR HANDLE Adjust the cutting path The cutting path can be adjust from 0 to. Phillips screwdriver(not supply) will be used. Loosen the screw and turn the cutter 80 then tighten the screw. 0 SPLIT AND TELESCOPING SHAFT Operation EDGER GUIDE PULL UP BUTTON TO ROTATE Lengthening the Line While the grass trimmer is operating, the cutting line gets worn down and becomes shorter. This trimmer is equipped with Automatic Line Advancement, which automatically feeds additional line to the correct length as it wears down. If the line does not automatically advance, the trimmer line may be tangled or empty. WARNING To avoid injury: Do not squeeze the trigger while the grass trimmer/edger is inverted. Do not carry the grass trimmer/edger with your finger on the switch. Avoid unintentional starting. To advance the line, restart the trimmer. Upon starting, the line will automatically advance.

This charger can be installed hanging on a wall using two screws (not supplied).. Locate the placement for the charger to be wall mounted. 3. If fastening to wood studs, use wood screws. 4. Drill two holes /3 (6 cm) on centre, ensuring they are level. 5. If fastening to drywall, use wall anchors and screws to secure the charger to the wall. If the battery pack does not charge properly: Check the current at the power outlet with another tool. Make sure that the outlet is not turned off. Operation Charging Procedure With regular use, the battery pack will need approx hour or less to fully charge. Allow the battery to fully discharge before recharging. It is recommended to charge the battery pack every 3 months when not in use.. Plug the charger into an AC power outlet.. Insert the battery pack (3) into the charge, the power LED () will turn red. Make sure the latch and battery are fully inserted into the charger. 3. Wait 5 seconds, the status LED () will turn red, indicating a connection to the power source and that the battery is charging. 4. When the battery has become fully charged, the status LED () will turn green. The battery can be stored in the charger, as long as the charger is not plugged in. NOTE: During charging operation if the Status LED begins to flash red, indicating that the battery requires replacing. Operation 3 WARNING If the battery is inserted into the charger when warm or hot, the CHECK BATTERY indicator light may switch on. If this occurs allow the battery to cool outside of the charger for 30 minutes. Recharge the battery pack anytime you notice there is less power. Disconnect the charger from the AC power outlet when not in use and once battery has reached a full charge.

Do not allow foreign material into the recessed cavity or on the contacts. Wipe with a dry cloth. Do not use solvents, water, or place in wet conditions. Always unplug the charger when there is no battery pack in it. Give the batteries a full charge before placing in storage. Do not recharge a fully charged battery pack. Overcharging shortens the battery life. Check that the charger contacts have not been shorted by debris or foreign material. If the surrounding air temperature is not normal room temperature, move the charger and battery pack to a location where the temperature is between 4 and 3 F (-0 and 45 C). Battery Pack Store the battery pack fully charged. Recharge the battery pack anytime you notice there is less power. Never let the battery pack become completely discharged. Never recharge a battery pack that is already fully charged. Overcharging shortens the battery life. Always recharge at a temperature of 4 to 3 F (-0 to 45 C). If the battery pack is hot, let it cool down before recharging. After charging, the battery pack may be stored in the charger as long as the charger is not plugged in. Cutting Line Replace the cutting line only with nylon monofilament.065 (.65 mm) line, or with prewound replacement spools. Always wind the line in the same direction as the arrow on the spool. Cleaning. Wipe the outside of the grass trimmer with a dry, soft cloth. Do not hose down or wash with water.. Scrape the guard and spool area to remove dried clippings and mud. 3. Brush or blow dust, debris, and grass clippings out of the air vents. Keep them free of obstruction. If your device is not operating properly, follow the instructions below. If this does not solve the problem, please contact your local repair agent. Tool runs slowly Check that the spool housing can rotate freely. Carefully clean it if necessary. Check that the cutting line does not protrude more than cm from the spool housing. If it does, cut it off so that it just reaches the line trimming blade. Automatic line feed does not work. Press the tabs and remove the spool cover from the housing. Pull the cutting line until it protrudes cm from the housing. If insufficient cutting line is left on the spool, install a new spool of cutting line as instructed in the Maintenance section of this Manual. Align the tabs on the spool cover with the cut outs in the housing. Push the cover onto the housing until it snaps securely into place. If the cutting line protrudes beyond the trimming blade, cut it off so that it just reaches the blade. If the automatic line feed still does not work or the spool is jammed, try the following suggestion: Carefully clean the spool cover and housing. Remove the spool and check if the lever can move freely. Remove the spool and unwind the cutting line, then wind it on neatly again as describe above. Replace the spool as instructed. Lubrication No lubrication is needed. Troubleshooting CAUTION: Do not use strong solvents or detergents on the plastic housing or plastic components. Certain household cleaners may cause damage and may also cause a shock hazard. WARNING To avoid risk of fire, electric shock, or electrocution: Do not use a damp cloth or detergent on the battery or battery charger. Always remove the battery pack before cleaning, inspecting, or performing any maintenance on the grass trimmer. WARNING Before proceeding, switch off and unplug.

Keep all bystanders at least 50 ft. away. GUIDELINES FOR USING EXTENSION CORDS USE THE PROPER EXTENSION CORD. Make sure your extension cord is in good condition. When using an extension cord, be sure to use one heavy enough to carry the current your product will draw. An undersized cord will cause overheating. The table below shows the correct size to use depending on cord length and nameplate ampere rating. If in doubt, use the next heavier gauge. The smaller the gauge number, the heavier the cord. Always replace a damaged extension cord or have it repaired by a qualified person before use. Keep extension cords away from sharp objects, excessive heat and damp or wet areas. Use a separate electrical circuit for your tools. This circuit should comprise a wire of at least gauge and should be protected with a 5 A time-delayed fuse. Before connecting the motor to the power line, make sure the switch is in the OFF position and the electric current is identical to that stamped on the motor nameplate. Running at a lower voltage will damage the motor. Electrical Information Read The Operator s Manual To reduce the risk of injury user must read and understand operator s manual before using this product. CAUTION Always make sure that your outlet is properly grounded. If you are uncertain, have it checked by a certified electrician. WARNING This grass trimmer is for outdoor use only. 9 6 7 model no contact us: model no contact us: General Safety Rules This grass trimmer is designed for cutting grass and similar soft vegetation and for trimming grass edges in private and hobby garden areas which are not accessible with a lawnmower. The device is not designed for use in public gardens, parks, sports centres or at roadsides nor in agriculture and forestry. This grass trimmer is not designed to be used for cutting or chopping: - Hedges, shrubs and bushes, - Flowers, - Or for composting purposes Failure to comply with these requirements could lead to personal injury. This device is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the device. If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard. Wear protective glasses or goggles. Never allow children or people unfamiliar with the instructions to use the device. Turn off the device while people, especially children, or pets are nearby. Only use the device in daylight or good artificial light. Before using the device and after any impact, check for signs of wear or damage and repair as necessary. Never operate the device with damaged guards or without the guards in place. Keep hands and feet away from the trimmer cutting line at all times and in particular when switching on the motor. Take care against injury from any device fitted for trimming the cutting line length. After extending new cutting line always return the device to its normal operating position before switching on. Never fit metal cutting elements. Never use replacement parts or accessories not provided or recommended by the manufacturer Disconnect the device from the power supply before checking, cleaning or repairing it and when it is not in use. Always ensure that ventilation openings are kept clear of debris. ADDITIONAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR YOUR GRASS TRIMMER Do not expose to moisture. Use only on AC power supply voltage shown on the product rating label. Avoid operating your trimmer in wet grass, where feasible. Take care not to lose your footing in wet grass. On slopes, be extra careful not to slip and wear nonslip footwear. Do not walk backwards when trimming as you could trip. Walk never run. Switch off before pushing the trimmer over surfaces other than grass. Never pick up or carry a trimmer by the power cable. TWO-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY For TWO YEARS from the date of purchase within Canada, YARDWORKS CANADA will, at its option, repair or replace for the original purchaser, free of charge, any part or parts found to be defective in material or workmanship. This warranty does not cover:. Any part that has become inoperative due to misuse, commercial use, abuse, neglect, accident, improper maintenance, or alteration; or.
