7 MASS Mass of the airplane including the propeller assembly, and without the rubber motor, must be 7.5 g or more (3.c.) Rubber motor may include any attachment such as O-rings and not to exceed a mass of 1.5 g (3.f.) Hints: Mass is measured in grams NOT grains
8 Total mass of the airplane throughout the flight, excluding the rubber motor! 7.5 grams or more! = 7.5 grams! (A penny has a mass of 2.50 g)

16 POWER (Rubber Motor) Rubber motor must be 1.5 grams or less Including any attachments such as O-rings May be lubricate before or after check-in Motors must be removable from the airplane Motors will be massed at check-in Only qualified motors may be used for official flights
17 TIPS Bring more than two rubber motors! Do not lubricate the rubber motors before check-in Find Rubber Lube at F.A.I. Model Supply
18 TIPS How to tie knots in the rubber loop!
19 COMPETITION Room dimensions (Approx.. length, width and ceiling height) will be announced before the tournament, be prepared to adjust the flight controls to the ceiling height and room size. Cordoned off area will be available for practice and trim flights No supports or assistance from outside cordoned off area. (4.b.) 8 minutes for two (2) official flights No impound Safety glasses are not required but highly encouraged Must present a flight log (4.c.)
20 LABELING The airplane must be labeled (3.g.) Such as school name, team number At least one non-horizontal surface of the airplane must be covered in a nontransparent, non-white material (3.g.)
21 FLIGHT LOG Data must include 6 or more parameters (3 required and at least 3 additional) (4.c.) Ten or more flights (4.c.) Three required parameters: 1. Motor size before wind up 2. Number of turns on the motor at launch 3. Flight time
