2 West Coast Electric Highway Vision: DC fast chargers strategically place in intervals along the 1,350 miles of I-5, Hwy 99 from Canada to Mexico. Purpose of Project: support broad consumer adoption of EVs commercialization. Case Theory : Range anxiety is a significant factor in consumers purchasing decision. Strategy: Provide a basic network of DC Fast Chargers to help alleviate range anxiety. West Coast Electric Highway: Create and promote both the functional and emotional benefits of having a safety net of EV charging opportunities. 2

14 Lessons Learned Prepare for long lead.me - nego.a.ng leases, u.lity easements and opera.ng agreements. Work closely with your electric u.li.es. Plan for future expansion (u.lity upgrades, trenching, boring, backfill resurfacing). Install CHAdeMO and CCS dual chargers. Have overlapping EVSE coverage (EV Project). Don t place EVSE under trees (Ridgefield Rookery). Prepare for weather condi.ons (radiant- heated concrete pad, snowplow for mountain areas). Educate your elected officials, Market your services.
