Built to the highest possible standards in hand laid GRP and to Lloyds special service rules (although not certified). With a huge single Deutz BF8M hp V8 marine engine commercially rated, 'Blue Thunder' is a go anywhere, anytime, type of boat. Immaculately maintained and an absolute pleasure to be aboard. Having made many Channel crossings in winds between F6 and F8 there is absolute confidence in her sea-keeping capabilities. Immensely strong, dry and safe. With an internal layout custom designed to provide every comfort for extended cruising. A replacement cost of this vessel would be well in excess of 400,000. When the superstructure was moulded the saloon was extended and she has the longest wheelhouse of any Lochin 40 (to that date). She also has the largest single engine installed on a Lochin 40 the super fuel efficient German built Deutz V8 600hp which was designed for 3000hrs use per year at full throttle. Fuel tanks were custom built by a company specialising in transporting hazardous chemicals. The list goes on and on...suffice it to say this Lochin 40 is without doubt the finest built boat in its class and has been meticulously maintained by a professional master mariner throughout it's entire life. A very, very rare find indeed and one that will certainly create interest around the world.
