6 HB-10A/HB-12A/HB-75/HB-160 HB-10A/HB-12A Economical solutions for operations such as logging and light construction where smaller blasts are used, these machines are built with the same technology as larger and more elaborate E.I.T. machines in order to ensure the same measure of durability and reliability. Both machines weigh less than a pound and incorporate heavy-duty binding posts and a heavy-duty safety centering rocker switch (HB-12A)/toggle switch (HB-10A). HB-75/HB-160 At only slightly thicker than one inch, the Scorpion HB-75 and HB-160 represent E.I.T s smallest machines. The Scorpion HB-15RST implements all of our standard features including dual safety push-button operation, a high-intensity ready light, a waterproof case and heavy-duty binding posts plus an array of additional benefits. 7 The blaster may charge the HB-15RST from an outlet/car or use a standard 9V alkaline battery until the factory-supplied 9V battery is recharged. In addition, the HB-15RST features a Self Test indicator light which lights after discharge to confirm that the minimum design energy was indeed available at the binding posts at discharge, thereby testing the Charge and the Detonate side of the circuit. This feature allows the blaster to record necessary information before initiation: whether or not the machine charges to its design voltage (indicated by the Ready light), and whether the machine discharges that energy (evidenced of the Self Test light). As standard with all Scorpion machines, voltage lockout circuitry does not allow the ready indicator to light until the unit has reached its design output energy. Further complimenting the HB-15RST s design is the use of our new low-profile one-step battery cover.

9 L-50/L-DRC/HR-8/HR-88 LAW ENFORCEMENT Scorpion models designed for law enforcement and EOD are known as the L-Series. L-Series machines include the L-50 (for specifications, see HB-50, page 1), the L-DRC (see W-DRC, page 10) and non-electric initiator models HR-8 (see page 9) and HR-88 (see HR-8, page 9). These machines are used world-wide by Law Enforcement and EOD for their extraordinary high reliability and durability. 11 E.I.T. offers three Scorpion initiators which operate identically but are constructed of different materials. Made from stainless steel and aircraft-grade aluminum, the HR-22 is the original and still the most rugged of the HR units. The HR-3 is a compact version of the HR-22 constructed entirely of stainless steel parts, and the HR-8 is identical to the HR-3 but is made more economical by having its parts constructed primarily of resilient high-density plastics. Multi-line models include the HR-88, HR-888, HR-33 and HR-333. (Numbers indicate shock tube lead capabilities; for instance, the HR-88 is capable of firing two shock tube leads at once from the same nozzle and the HR-333 is capable of firing three shock tube leads at once from the same nozzle.) W-DRC W-DRC One of E.I.T. s most innovative analog galvanometer designs, the waterproof Scorpion W-DRC features a large easy-to-read meter and a one-step waterproof easy-access battery compartment. 12 HB-20AP/HCCR/HB-20P MSHA Approval No. 16E-15 HB-20P / HB-20AP Scorpion HB-20P and HB-20AP are MSHA-approved permissible blasting units designed for underground coal and gaseous mine use (high-precision electronic circuitry provides the millisecond internal shunt timing required by regulations). Among the differences between these units is their size and switch: the HB-20P is larger and uses a heavy-duty safety centering rocker switch whereas the HB-20AP, because of its smaller size, utilizes a heavy-duty booted toggle switch. Both units have an energy output of Joules at 350 VDC for initiating 20 permissible detonators with 16' iron leg wires in series. HCCR The Scorpion HCCR is a specially designed large-capacity solid-state electronic blasting machine for use in blasts which exceed the capacity of regular permissible blasting units. The HCCR is built with the same type of shunting circuitry found in the HB-20P and HB-20AP so that it can be used in coal and gaseous mines, and this unit is MSHAaccepted (Acceptance #MSHA-LCBU-1). Use of this product does require a variance from mine inspectors. The HCCR is designed to detonate up to 150 short-delay iron leg wire electric detonators in a circuit of 6 series of 25 in parallel. 11

14 HB-SBS/HR-1 HR-1 The Scorpion HR-1 extends E.I.T. s long line of non-electric initiators. One bottom-loading 9V battery powers the HR-1 and may be removed and replaced using the easy one-step battery cover. The waterproof HR-1 also features an impact-resistant case and a factory-supplied belt loop. HB-SBS The Scorpion HB-SBS (Small Blasting System) is designed for operators who need a strong and reliable electric blasting machine as well as a non-electric initiator. By combining the best of two machines (the HB-50 and the HR-1), the HB-SBS offers easy and reliable options for nearly all blasting applications.
