4 205 INJURY DATA VICTIM STATISTICS Operators 7 / 9% (INJURED) Swimmers 6 / % Occupants 26 / 60% On June 20, 205, a 6 foot vessel was following closely behind another vessel while approaching the US bridge on the Peace River in Charlotte County. The operator was not able to avoid a bridge support column as they passed under the bridge. Upon impact the operator and two of the three occupants were ejected overboard. The operator was struck by the propeller as the vessel circled around the bridge piling. The remaining occupant was able to turn off the engine before it circled around again. The other two occupants that were ejected suffered injuries from impacting the bridge.
