1 May 22, 2017 INDY Memo -- UPDATE FRP information for the SVRA event at Indy, June 8-11 Read the information on the SVRA website under the All Open Wheel Weekend event heading. 1) The Test Days: FRP has no connection to the test days on Wednesday and Thursday, June 7-8. You must apply directly and space is limited. From FRP s prospective, we feel it will be of limited use as there are only two 20 min sessions each day and it will be crowded, mixed classes; but it is your call. If you plan to participate, please let us know as it will affect load in (see below). 2) Load In: FRP will be in the 5 th street lot paddocked with F4 and near the gasoline alley garages. It will be tight and FRP will park you. It is imperative that we know whether you are participating in one or both test days. Our planned load in is Thursday, June 8 th for those not participating in the test days. 3) Registration: Registration is outside the speedway and you need to register with SVRA (a USAC hardcard alone is NOT sufficient) and sign waivers. Registration is in the IMS Administration building on 16 th street. Hours are 7am-5pm Wed-Fri, 7:30am-3pm Sat and 8-noon on Sunday. FRP has uploaded all crew, staff and VIP names with USAC hardcards to SVRA to use as crew lists for credentials. 4) Race Groups: F2000, FC is group 6; FF, F1600 is group 7; Atlantic, FA, PFM and F1000 is group 11. Given the entries, this is the closest we can get to pure single class racing. There will be a small number of cars in each group which are not racing for FRP points and championship, but they will be in class. All FRP championship cars will be on correct Hoosier tires supplied by the Hoosier factory (not a dealer) located in our paddock. 5) Golf Carts and Paddock Carts: They must be insured and credentialed by SVRA or the paddock police will park them. Look for insurance application and golf cart rental application on the SVRA site or below. If you bring your own, make sure you read the requirements on the SVRA site, it s very specific. DEADLINE IS THE 23RD, OR THERE ARE ADDITIONAL COSTS 6) Track access: Access will be 24-7, but make sure you have your credentials with you. 7) Fuel: Fuel will be supplied by Corrigan Oil- We are working out whether you need to pre-order or if we can do a bulk buy. Stay tuned. 8) Entry fee payments: For those who have already paid, Thank You For those who have not yet paid your entry fee; we will contact you directly for payment. 2 9) Tech: FRP will tech all FRP listed cars whether they are going for points or not. All cars will need a SVRA tech sticker, and completed SVRA tech sheet, but these will be administered by FRP personnel. Safety equipment must be up to date and will be spot checked by SVRA. Tire rules will be in effect for the points chasers. Safety Equipment Requirements (per SVRA) Arm restraints are required. Head and neck restraints are required. Please inspect your HANS device to make sure it complies with the following: o must be certified by either SFI certification 38.1 and/or FIA certification and have current tethers (within 5 years old) o Devices that do not carry either SFI Certification 38.1 or FIA certification may not be used. Tethers should be available for sale at the track. Driving suits, underwear, gloves, socks and shoes must be certified by SFI or FIA. o SFI certified Driving suits must have SFI3.2A/1 rating or higher (3.2A/3, 3.2A/5, 3.2A/10 3.2A/15, or 3.2A/20). Suits rated SFI3.2A/10 or higher will require recertification every 5 years. Driver suits with a SFI3.2A/1 and SFI3.2A/3 rating must be used with fire retardant underwear. o FIA certified driver s suit must have a homologation label of FIA o Underwear must be made to SFI 3.3 and or FIA specification. o Socks must be made to SFI 3.3 and or FIA specification. o Shoes must be made to SFI 3.3 and or FIA specification. o Gloves must be made to SFI 3.3 and or FIA specification. Helmets are required to be automobile rated racing helmet of SA2010 or SA2015 or the equivalent FIA specification Restraint System -- All cars must be equipped with driver restraint systems with SFI or FIA certification. SFI certification 16.1, 16.5, and 16.6 and FIA 8853/98 will be accepted. o SFI Certification SFI tagged restraint systems are punched with the month and year of manufacturer. SFI 16.1, and 16.5 expire two (2) years after the date of manufacture at the end of the month of manufacture as indicated on the label. There must be labels on each harness one on a shoulder belt, one on lap belt and one sub-strap. FIA certification FIA tagged restraint systems have the expiration year printed or stamped on tags. These harnesses are good for a period of 5 years ending on December 31st of the year printed or stamped on the tags. There should be one FIA tag on each element of the harness.
