1 Product Bulletin MEG95 Long-Life Engine Coolant/Antifreeze Concentrate Product Description PrixMax MEG95 is a universal ethylene glycol based antifreeze coolant concentrate (contains 1060 g/litre ethylene glycol) incorporating an advanced formula technology with virtually non-depleting organic acid corrosion inhibitors. The product is dyed a distinctive orange colour for ready identification. PrixMax MEG95 is silicate free for improved pump life and contains no environmentally harmful nitrates, borates, phosphates, amines or nitrites. PrixMax MEG95 is compatible with most conventional coolants and can be used for top-up of conventional coolants. Before mixing PrixMax MEG95 with other coolants contact the Coolcheck laboratories. If the product is to be mixed with some heavy duty diesel coolants the user must continue to add SCAs for heavy-duty service until the next coolant change-out. PrixMax MEG95 satisfies or exceeds all major standards and is recommended for all internal combustion engines by European, Japanese and USA manufacturers. PrixMax MEG95 can be added directly to the cooling system as top-up adjustment of freeze point of the cooling water. Primary Application Recommended as coolant for use in both aluminium alloy automobile/light duty service engines and in heavy duty diesel and natural gas mobile and stationary engines. Provided the correct dosage of 50% PrixMax MEG95 mixed with 50% good quality water is maintained, flush and change passenger car/light duty commercial vehicle cooling system contents every 5 years or 250,000 kms. For heavy-duty engines, PrixMax MEG95 as a 50% mixture with good quality water more than doubles the life of conventional coolants to 500,000 km or 6,000 hours or 5 years (whichever comes first) at the same time providing excellent protection against cylinder liner cavitation corrosionerosion.

Provided a 50:50 mix of PrixMax MEG95 and good quality water is maintained, coolant service life for heavy duty engines may be extended up to 1,000,000 km or 18,000 hours or 6 years (whichever comes first) after system evaluation using the Coolcheck scheduled laboratory coolant analysis service. A 50:50 mix of PrixMax MEG95 / good quality water will provide outstanding corrosion protection in stationary engines (machines or commercial engines) for at least 32,000 hours or 6 years (whichever comes first) after system evaluation using the Coolcheck scheduled laboratory coolant analysis service. Dosage Rate PrixMax MEG95 Water Freeze Protection Boil Protection * 1 part 1 part -37 C 129 C 1 part 2 parts -20 C 121 C * with a 103 kpa radiator pressure cap PrixMax MEG95 must not be dosed neat to the engine cooling system but diluted up to minimum 33% or maximum 67% with good quality water. The dosage depends on the level of frost protection required and/or the manufacturer s recommendation. For optimum year round protection against freezing, boiling and corrosion, 50 percent PrixMax MEG95 coolant solution is recommended. While PrixMax MEG95 is compatible with hard water the use of soft or deionised water is preferable to minimise scale deposits. Do not mix PrixMax MEG95 with other coolant products as the extended life benefits will be reduced. If mixed with more than 15% conventional coolant, treat the cooling system as if it contains conventional coolant or drain and flush the system and refill with PrixMax MEG95. Always start off with a clean cooling system using PrixMax Radiator Flush at the change interval if previously using conventional coolants. After draining the cleaner flush thoroughly with clean water. Inspect the cooling system. Make necessary repairs and tighten all hose connections.

PrixMax Coolcheck scheduled coolant analysis is available as a monitoring program which at least annually determines the overall condition of the coolant and cooling system. A basic coolant maintenance check every oil change or 250 service hours can be performed using PrixMax Coolant Test Strips or glycol refractometer to identify problems with maintenance procedures and operational practices. The coolant should be changed out at overhaul or up to 6 years, subject to testing. Always dispose of the used coolant in accordance with local, state and federal guidelines. PrixMax MEG95 has a shelf-life of at least 2 years. Product Benefits PrixMax MEG95 can be used in most OEM diesel, petrol and natural gas engines allowing one coolant to be inventoried. The product lasts up to 3 times as long as conventional coolants. Reduces engine coolant cost up to 60% over conventional coolants. Service life 500,000 kms for truck engines and up to 6,000 hours for heavyduty/commercial engines or 5 years whichever comes first. Coolant life may be extended further after evaluation via a Coolcheck scheduled laboratory coolant analysis. For automobile engines, drain at 250,000 kms or 5 years whichever comes first. PrixMax MEG95 contains no silicates or environmentally harmful borates, phosphates, amines or nitrates. Hard water deposits and scale from silicate drop out etc. in the cooling system are practically eliminated. The low level of total dissolved solids improves water pump seal life and prevents gel formation. Excellent heat transfer and superior aluminium protection at high operating temperatures. The combination of organic carboxylate inhibitors offers excellent protection against cast iron cylinder liner and block pitting and cavitation corrosionerosion.
